Another example of legalized loansharking.
Debt=Slavery is the definition of our economic systems.

Great article and post. VERY true!!!

And this article illustrates part of what leads to this sort of irresponsible and dangerous borrowing. If you can't read a paystub (or understand that withholding is not the same as income tax - very common among hourly workers at every place I've worked over the past 20+ years), then what chance do you have as you pass through the doorway of a payday loan parlor? NONE!!! :nono:

There’s nothing wrong with encouraging our nation’s teens to get jobs. But it turns out we’d better make sure we also teach them how to decipher their pay stubs and figure out how much money they lose to Uncle Sam—because most American teens appear to be solidly mediocre in financial matters compared to their peers around the globe, reports MarketWatch. Results of a new survey published yesterday by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) show that only one in 10 15-year-olds can solve complex financial problems, and one in six can’t even make simple decisions about how to use and spend money. The US came in ninth among the 18 countries surveyed, beating out Colombia, Italy, and Israel, but lost out to China, Belgium, and Estonia.

The survey asked participants questions ranging from how much of a paycheck was actually going into a bank account through direct deposit to the more complicated task of selecting the better of two loan proposals. The report’s authors say that there should be more standardized financial education in schools, but one financial expert disagrees. "What do kids learn? They learn from what they see at home," he tells the Wall Street Journal. His assertion may back up test scores of kids from China, the top performers in the survey. According to the OECD’s head of schools, only 50% of Shanghai students are in schools that offer a financial education program; in the US, that figure is 70%. (Take the test for yourself here.)

Payday loans, pawn shops, car title loans, student loans for sketchy vocations and subprime car loans are all part of the same scheme to enslave the American populace.

This is the face of your enemy, citizen: Yossi Dina. Although he takes many forms and has many faces, as Lucifer and his minions tend to, learn this face. Shun this face. Avoid him and those of his ilk.

The metaphorical "Lucifer" comes in all shapes and sizes.
Male or female, from every religion and race, thankfully they are a small minority, but they are smart assholes and the cause of most of humanities problems.
99% of man made problems are caused by greed..."greed is the root of all our problems".

The levee in New Orleans broke and the city was flooded, because greed prevented it from being build properly.
The BP oil disaster in the Gulf, because greed made BP use sub standard parts.
And we are the ones who pay for their greed.
Etc, etc, etc..............

It will only get worse because politicians are being bought by corporations with money they stole from us, by overcharging us or by avoiding paying their fair share of taxes.

Avoid these companies like the plague at least their is some degree of regulation coming into play in the UK are they popular in the US?

i did one time try for a payday loan, but after hearing the bullshit and how i'd have to pay them back made no sense. they expected me to give them my whole check! i told them, why cant i pay you in installments? how do you expect me to eat and pay bills? i mean the reason i need the loan is to pay for something i need cause i dont have the cash for it. im not asking for the loan cause i want to pay my bills in advance, lol! so, i got a car title loan instead. i qualified for $6,000, but i only needed a thousand. the fat bitch tried really hard to convince that the six grand would be better, but i wasnt buying it, cause i didnt fucking need six grand. after 3 minutes of hearing her, i told her i'd go elsewhere. she gave in and gave me the grand and on top of that added two hundred and twenty five dollar fee. i knocked it out in five months, and got my title back.

in case you're wondering why i needed the loan, it was for an abortion.

There are other ways of getting emergency money.
- use a credit card (but use it wisely, only when you really need it and always pay it back asap)
- for a fee of a few dollars a month you can get an overdraft service on your bank account.
- ask friends or family and give them something as collateral until you pay them back.
-
The fault lies partly with the education system, most of what we learn isn't practical in the real world for most people.
Young people need to be thought practical skills that will give them a better chance at a debt free life.
How to apply for a job, how to buy a car, how to buy a house, how to get a loan, how to budget your money, how to get along with other people, how to ask a girl or guy out on a date, how to deal with rejection, how to use a condom so you don't become a teenage parent, how to save money by learning DIY minor repairs on your car or home, etc...
