On that we agreePeople are manipulated easily in France, very easily and people also vote less and less unlike in the USA. So when there is only a participation less than 50%, the election shouldn't even be validated.
But these low-turnout election are usualy european election or election for the regions, not the presidential (which turn-out is around 75-85%)
althought it's true more and more people don't vote, mostly because they think that, wether the Right or the Left is in office, nothing really changes.
For example, during his 2012 campaign, hollande made a famous speech in which he told that his enemy was the financing world. He got elected that year and he took Macron, a former Rotschild banker, as Chief of Staff...
In 2005, Sarkozy was minister of the Interior (basically, he was in charge of national security). He once said he would clean thez suburbs from the thugs "with a karcher". He was Minister of the Interior for 4 years than President or 5 years. The thugs are still there...
