Pakistani Muslims Call for Hanging of Atheist Blogger

Three Pakistani bloggers were arrested recently in Karachi and were accused of using a Dutch SIM card to post blasphemous content on social media. One of the bloggers who went by the alias, Allama Ayaz Nizami, had over 12,000 followers. The arrests were part of a government crackdown on social media blasphemers and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddique, an Islamabad High Court judge, is considering outright banning all social media from the country. He was quoted as saying “It will not make any difference if selfies and pictures of food are not shared with others … We will decide in the next court hearing if social media should be ****** in Pakistan or not.”

Ironically after news of the arrests, Pakistani Muslims went on twitter to express their feelings towards the bloggers — especially Allama Ayaz Nizami. Soon, the hashtag #HangAyazNizami was trending in Pakistan with users calling for the blogger to be executed.

There isn’t freedom of speech in Pakistan and blasphemy can be punishable by death. Ayaz Nizami, an atheist, had been critical of Islam and the Pakistani government, tweeting “No laws are really implemented in Pakistan except the Blasphemy Laws” two weeks before his arrest. One of his last tweets before his arrest showed his defiance saying he will continue to “seek the truth.”

Following in the footsteps of Pakistan, Canada recently ****** a “Blasphemy” motion that was introduced by MP Iqra Khalid, a Pakistani immigrant. The motion establishes a committee to restrict freedom of speech and criminalize speech deemed “islamophobic” despite the word never being defined anywhere.

There was also no mention of blaspheming or being “phobic” of other religions aside from Islam.

I know I'm supposed to be outraged at the muslims here, but over the last eight years, on a daily basis, I witnessed multiple commenters on Right Wing social media sites and blogs calling for Obama to be hung (or otherwise assassinated), so... :dunno:

Really? I have never heard or seen that once out of right wing sites or blogs.

However, I have seen random commentary like in comment sections of articles saying **** like that.

I vehemently disagreed with Obama but I liked his personality. I wish he were a conservative.

I'd much rather have a **** with Obama than that fraud GWB any day of the week.

Yes that's what I was referring to when I used the word "commenters". Just an avalanche of comments like that over the last eight years. Really despicable.
The bloggers themselves have to be more careful, although I've seen some express the same sentiment using more veiled language/imagery.
And I all but never saw any of them chastise the commenters who went down that road.

Of course this happens on the left too, and obviously it's just as bad when it does.
But I've never witnessed it occurring with anything close to the kind of frequency it did while Obama was president. Man o man

Tucker is the man. Did you ever hear the story about a few years ago when Tucker was on Crossfire that he made a joke about Trump's hair? He said when he got back to his office there was a voicemail from Trump ( he said he didn't know him and had never met Trump at that time) saying" you may have better hair than me, but I get more pussy than you".

Tucker said, "well he has a point"and never responded and laughed it off.
