Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Can't say I ever played paintball. I guess I possessed too many brain cells. Advice, you say? Duck and shoot first.

Wear Mask, 2 layers and/or a chestplate and make sure you get familiar with the gun before you actually start a game because guns are usually tailored abit to who owns it

Yeah, wear a cup and a thick shirt or two. Don't EVER take your helmet off for any reason too. Try not to spray fire all over the place if you THINK you see someone. Sometimes those other people MIGHT be your teammates if you play that way. Look, aim, and fire, or else You Might hit your teammate in the back FIVE FREAKING TIMES!!

Enjoy it. That's all you need to do.

Bruises heal after all.

I'm not concerned about the bruises. I was looking more for tactics. When I was younger I used to play capture the flag and hamburger hill with glow sticks. Was a fuckin blast and I was damn good at it, though no one was shooting at me.

I'd assume this is the same kind of thing? Lay low and be alert? Guessin is the way to go. Fuck I dunno :dunno:
Run-n-gun halo style is a quick way to get picked off for sure!

I can see myself getting hooked on this shit hardcore and I've never even done it before. I definatly see the draw though. Kinda like war but minus all the blood and...death!

You're going to get your cherry popped? By a paintball gun? Holy crap, dude! What are you thinking?

Ooooh, you mean your first time playing? Ok. Gotcha.

Paintballs don't really hurt. They sting for a few seconds, but that's about it. Just expect to be sore the next day.

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
wear a cup when possible. and a thick shirt, unless you like welts on your torso.

I never wore a cup.

I used to play in the woods, then too much speedball started to happen. I go back as far as oil based paintballs and no pump handles on the nelsons.
I still have several custom pumps.

Wear a top coat, not tucked in, it will catch the distant shots from the nubs and drop to the ground. Keep your pods under the coat if they're clear. We used to call those guys with clear tubes, electric lizards.

Don't pick up the spilled paint off the ground.

Wear a bandana.

Wear kneepads. Nothing hurts more than a sharp rock.

Pay attention when you're reloading and make sure the hopper lid is closed.

Keep your situational awarness high. I used to sprint the wire and get inside the base edges, then turn around and let the opposing side join me, shoot them all in the back because they weren't paying attention.

Favorite trick of mine was to shoot at them, tell them to check themselves, they stop shooting back, while checking you pop them again.

If you're going to play arena or speed, keep low, shoot and move. If it's indoor ball, and astroturf, use the knee pads to slide in to the bunkers then shoot over the top.

Don't hyperventilate in the mask, don't lift up your mask. If it fogs, get behind a solid object and pump your mask in and out. Do not take it off.

There's more, but it's your first time... have fun. Don't drink booze.

Freeze your paintballs the night before. Then they'll be guaranteed to take out your targets.

My Penis Is Dancing!
I once worked as a reporter at a local newspaper and did an article about some local paintballers. It was a lot of fun.
While one match was going on, I found the perfect shot: Guy was crouched behind some bushes, the rays of the sun shining through the leaves of the trees in the forest perfectly creating a beam of light that he stayed slightly hidden from (the beam took the eyes of his opponents away from him and at the beam). So, I popped up from my hiding place (wearing a bright orange vest so I would not get shot) and took the picture.
There was only one problem: Everyone else saw the guy in the bright orange vest pop up and take a picture, which let them know where this other guy was. I only got hit by a few of the paintballs.
They were kind enough to let me pay a couple of matches, and I didn't do too terribly bad. Found that I was very good at staying hidden, but not a very good shot. And, the moisture from the surrounding shrubbery got into the little compartment where the paintballs were stored, basically turning them into puddles of paint. Those don't shoot very well - but hopefully, technology has overcome that little fault.

Have fun and always keep your gun up and facing forward, its a personal pet peeve to see someone running forward with their gun barrel pointed at the ground.
