Ozzy Osbourne....Black Sabbath

Killer B

I Like Big Tits! (song by Joe Walsh)
I'm pleasantly surprised how good "13" is. After all this time, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi (who's battling early stage lymphoma) still got it. Original drummer Bill Ward sat out due to recording contract disputes. Fortunately, Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave) is a very capable replacement.

It's cool they decided to use rain and church bell sound effects at the end of the closing song, "Dear Father" just like they did at the start of the opening track on their first album in 1970.

Good article. Given his age, I wonder how much longer he'll stay alive under this pattern of having treatments. I guess a bigger question is, what is the outlook like for people of his age who have the kind of lymphoma that doesn't go away.

Something about the music from back then is just awesome! I can play any rock album (well, except the Eagles- really tired of them other than a few select songs) over and over and never get tired of them. I'm planning on picking up a Grass Roots and Animals collection in the future. Those are two really good maybe forgotten bands nowadays. I love that entire period- all the music, haha. Even rare bands (thanks to the internet for helping me discover these!) To name one rare band- Camel! Bad band name, excellent guitar playing!

Listened to those bands as well except for Camel. Remember the name though. Nothing like good music !

good to see them back together,
:2 cents: first 3, maybe 5 albums are best for Sabbath

was disappointed bill ward couldn't agree terms for reunion though, especially coz this could be a last opportunity for them all to play & record together again.

I wish them all the best though, especially tony

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Rock

Stooges rock. Funhouse is a terrific early punk album and it just plain rocks. Iggy Pop may have been right when he said the Stooges could out-rock anyone on the planet if they wanted to. The Tubes are a great band if you love experimental vocals and other things. The debut album is my favorite, though the next 3 are really good too (especially Remote Control). I should know more about Motorhead than I do. I know they kick ass though. Cream is awesome live, though the studio stuff is turning out to be more awesome than I realized many years ago. That was the best thing Clapton ever did IMO- be a part of that band. Iron Maiden is my favorite metal band from the 80's. Love the gory looking album covers and the melodic way they write progressive metal with the chugging riffs. They have an *awesome* sound! Headless Cross was a letdown to me but to be fair, I haven't heard it in a good 12 years so who knows. The new Sabbath album is mostly awesome (at least, the longer songs) but I really wish Bill Ward returned for a true reunion. Still, Iommi's guitar solos are getting better the older he gets which is amazing!

Damn, i remember seeing Iggy and the Stooges back in the 70's at the Allen Theatre in downtown Cleveland and also seeing Iggy Pop in the 80's down in the flats in Cleveland(can't think of the club). Saw the Tubes,Motorhead and wish i would have saw the other bands you mentioned. Maiden is exellent, so were the Scorpions. Never heard of Headless Cross though. Good reading !

Lord Dipstick
Good Documentary that I watched last night on Ozzy produced by his son, Jack.
Includes interviews withh is BEAUTIFUL daughter, Aimee.

I thought Iommi beat lymphoma? Damn, that sucks.

In early 2012, Iommi was diagnosed with early stages of lymphoma, for which he has undergone successful treatment as of January 2013. Black Sabbath's 2013 tour dates have been arranged so that Iommi is free to return to the UK once every six weeks to have an antibody administered. He will beat it.

Guess Who rocks- Burton Cummings cries when he sings. I love that. Amon Duul II's Yeti album is what you wanna pop into your CD player (or whatever people use for music listening these days) whenever you want to just let loose and feel like the craziest person on the planet!!
