Checking in with this thread, a little shy of 1 year +1 month, I've done extremely well, I've managed to get my weight to a point I haven't seen since I was a ***. I'm enjoying eating a "normal" diet once a month, the rest of the month I'm still really strict on calories and macros and I've managed to continue to lose an average of about ten pounds a month since May. Anyone that needs to drop the weight and just hasn't committed to doing it, hear me, you CAN, it's just a matter of making the decision to do it!

Good for you sir. I'm glad that you're pleased with your results, especially given all the hard work you've put into it (from what you've shared). Losing ten pounds a month (on average) sounds a bit unhealthy though (assuming I'm reading that correctly). Don't put yourself in a deficit if you can avoid it.

Kudos though. :hatsoff:

Yeah, depends on the diet plan any given person follows. I've gone though the diet wars with enough people that I know where you're coming from, I just don't happen to agree. Without getting into the particulars of how much I weighed and how much I've lost, suffice it to say that ten pounds a month ain't nuthin', of course I'm down close to 180lbs at this point, so tapering off is pretty much mandated.

I would like to know more about your method, though. If you're interested in what I've been doing look up Dr. Jason Fung.

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.

I was put on the dock at work, as opposed to driving a semi, at my request, and that little extra physical activity, combined with cutting back from 4-8 beers a day, plus shots, to 3 beers a week, lightened me up by over 50lbs.

Heard, there's a lot of ways to get to the temple.

I'm certainly not trying to sway you if you either feel that this is working for you or isn't unhealthy, or both. I don't believe that losing that much weight a month is healthy, but that's my opinion, and you certainly didn't ask for it, nor did you ask to hear my thoughts on the matter. I still give you my heartiest congratulations though.

I can't really say that I have a method. I try and watch what I eat, and cycle through various training programs at the gym. I can go into more detail on those if you like, but what I have to offer isn't original to me.

I've tried looking Jason Fung up, but I can't find much information regarding his plan of treatment outside hints of it in Amazon reviews. If you're willing to share some of what he advocates, I'm willing to read it.

Sorry if I came across as defensive, I've had a fuck-ton of people arguing against the way I've lost weight. I come from the prospective that what you eat is more important than how much, like you, hardly original, but still causes a lot of conflict. Dr. Fung has a lot of stuff posted on youtube, and http://www.dietdoctor.com/ it's low-carb, but definitely NOT Atkins.

No, you didn't come across as defensive at all, and even if you did, it would be rightfully so. I didn't need to ****** my opinion into my congratulation to you, but I did, and if you had told me to take a leap off a duck, you'd have been in the right. In any case, no harm done.

My perspective is that it's both what and how much, but again that's my own, and it's not by any means original. I'll give his material on youtube a looksee.

I started off on Atkins Induction and transitioned to low-carb/high-fat around the end of last year. Since I know none of you guys will judge me, when I started I weighed around 430lbs. Last time I stepped on the scale, about a week ago, I was right at 190. I'm 6'3", just to give you a little more perspective. I haven't done this directly under the supervision of a doctor, but I see one on a regular basis and to say he's been impressed would be an understatement and he fully endorses the diet I follow.

Woah.

Well, certainly seeing that, I have to give you even more kudos. Diet talk aside, that's an incredible feat. Well done sir.

Once you get the ball rolling it picks up momentum on it's own and gets to be second nature. I'm not quite officially in maintenance, everyone tells me that's where the real test will be, but I've figured that I've been eating the same way for so long that it's ingrained. The real pitfall is not showing restraint when adding **** back in, I've got an online support group I check in with daily that have been a tremendous asset in keeping me focused and motivated and I have no intention of abandoning them in the foreseeable future. Of course there's a lot of IIFYM guys that give me grief, and straight-up Calorie In/Calorie Out guys that want to argue, but for the most part it's a pleasant place and the benefits have outnumbered the headaches exponentially.

No, you're not allowed to be depressed for that, find a real issue to grow a vagina over.

Fuck! 32? if I knew then what I know now...life would be a way different now.
