We played this game with Dubaya for 8 years, and with Reagan. Yeah, it's real nice. You think he's stupid. He's just stupid enough to get elected. He's just stupid enough to trash the Constitution. He's just stupid enough to get his supporters to mistrust all the things that insure freedom (Free press, regularly-held, free elections, objective law enforcement.) He'll probably be just stupid enough to get his supporters to declare him King Trump I, with Queen Ivanka to follow, and then maybe King Donald II. He's not going away, boys and girls. Yep, he's just stupid enough to realize all you have to do in modern American politics is to register republican, SAY you're a christian, (actually being one is not required, so long as you kiss up to the evangelicals, and scare them a lot, which is easily done,) create lots of boogey men, (Muslims, immigrants, liberals, basically anyone who doesn't agree with the conservative agenda,) say as much outlandish shit as you can, (So they'll say, "Oh! He speaks his mind!") and you'll have republicans willing to hand every one of their rights, (except their right to own a gun,) over to you, and they won't realize how worthless those guns are until it's WAY too late. (Spoiler alert,) it doesn't matter who has a gun. It's who has the most guns, the biggest guns and the most ammunition.)

I disagree with you but I won't speak for anyone other than you and I. Let's just focus on you for a moment. IMO you would destroy Trump in any kind of intelligence test. Furthermore, your knowledge is of a broader spectrum than his. Your quest for knowledge is also likely superior to his. Yeah like all of us your knowledge is sometimes stilted by your belief system, and belief systems will sometimes impair our ability to learn. But regardless, your general knowledge is superior to our president's. So is mine. That makes me very uncomfortable. And I am not claiming that either you or I are geniuses, but FFS compared to Trump it seems we are, and that just ain't the way it should be. He's the freaking president for cripes sake.
Idea for a TV show: Are you smarter than a POTUS? Do you know who is a complete dumb ass? Chris Matthews. His appearance on Jeopardy was embarrassing to watch and a lot of people think he is smart. I think you equate skills as an orator with intelligence.
One thing I am absolutely certain of is that highly intelligent people have flawed judgement. I have seen medical doctors, professors, judges do the dumbest shit and on a regular basis and with more frequency than the regular person.
John Kerry doesn’t seem to be very bright IMO and GWB had me cringing every time he spoke wondering what he would fuck up next.
I don’t question Trump’s intelligence, I do think he shoots from the hip too much when thinking out loud. We need less of that.
