Opera 38 & Speed Dial

I'm having to use Opera at work now, and my question is; Is there an easy way to be able to change the speed dial thumbnails?

Google has not been much help. It keeps giving results that are years old, outdated and obsolete.

That page is over 2 years old. The file thumbnails.db doesn't even exist, so it's all outdated.

From the website of the Speed Dial you wish to change, click on the heart that appears at the end of the search bar.
You'll get an option to scroll through a number of preselected images
That's the easiest way I know.

I know about all that. The issue is there are very few preselected images and those images aren't worth a shit. I want to be able to use my own images.

Ah. I never looked into that as it doesn't seem worth the effort and every new update it all seems to change anyway. Maybe there's an add on or alternative?

I could not find an add-on... And, I posted this same question on the Opera forum and someone on there said it was not possible (now).

From what I read, it used to be possible up until about version 31, and then it was changed. A lot of users got super-pissed and said they switching to Firefox.

Taking a quick look at the Opera developers changelogs nothing seems to be changing in version 39 (beta) and 40 (developer) as well. You might be screwed.
