by black people I'm assuming you mean poor blacks. I've lived overseas and in third world countries. I've seen true poverty (including relatives) - digging through garbage heaps for food poverty.

By contrast, (and I know this is anecdotal but it's representative) here in the U.S. I've seen firsthand because I grew up with friends who were poor and yes, black and in each instance their families had:

1) A roof over their head
2) A fridge full of food
3) A car in the garage
4) A big screen tv
5) A video game console
6) Enough money to get keyed (high/*****) on a regular basis

This while both spouses didn't work and with multiple ******** in the household. So in comparison to poor people around the world, the poor in the U.S. have it damn good.

Oh, and poor people in the U.S. have a problem with OBESITY.

Yes, things are bad in black neighborhoods (in relation to other areas in the country, but a damn sight better than in Africa, like where the ******* of a certain somebody who thinks we're all our *******'s keeper but not when it comes to his own ******* who lives in a hut on like $20 a year, while this certain somebody runs a freaking country and is worth millions), but because of politicians who want to keep them there, so the politicians can promise them things, and then stay in office. The politicians want them to be poor, the politicians tell them that they can't succeed, "it's all because of people who have what you don't, and if you'll vote for me, I'll take it from them and give it to you, so you'll keep me in power, and keep you right where you are with just enough handouts to make you think I'm fighting for you."

And I don't know if you've noticed, but um, the cities and places with all the bad areas, you know, where the blacks live, they're run by Democrats. The very people who say they're trying to help blacks, but are really just keeping them trapped and enslaved for votes.

The government hasn't discriminated against blacks or any minority in years, and when there is discrimination, it's by people on the left, who supposedly are for the minorities. You've got a better shot at getting into just about anything as a black than as a white, just because it's so easy for a black person to cry discrimination regardless of it being true or not and there are racial quotas for some things, which means discrimination in favor of minorities. And either way you cut it, discrimination is wrong. It's supposed to be the content of your character, not the color of your skin. And if you'll listen to politicians, it's interesting who's seeing colors, genders, sexuality, and everything else, and who's seeing Americans, because by the way things get reported, you'd swear it'd be the other way around. Just like supposedly the right is violent, yet it's the left that time after time is violent.

Oh, and to make sure all of us Americans and Europeans are on the same page here, right and left mean different things to us. See, here in America, we actually have 2 schools of thought: big, controlling government (socialism/communism, fascism, the US left), and as small a government as possible where the people are free to do what they want (libertarianism, the US right). In Europe, you guys just have the big, controlling government in 2 forms, communism left, and national socialism right, AKA the Nazis. So let's not be confusing who's what, shall we?

No one alive is leaving Finland to find "freedom". You've no idea what you're talking about. We're not some ex-soviet state. We beat Russia twice, actually. Our education and health systems are better, and in a lot of ways we're a lot more free than the US, mostly because there's a lot less judgement and religious fanaticism. But hey, you can go ahead and make even more assumptions. I actually had a thread in Politics about how ridiculous it is when Americans try to tell me how not free we are.

Well, there's some more of that 'education,' saying we judge people and have religious fanaticism (there are kooks, but there are kooks in everything, and you can't lump 99.999% in with the .001%, and by the way, apparently we're free enough to have 'religious fanaticism'), and apparently you don't know your country's history, because, yeah, people did leave your country and a whole bunch of others, risking their lives to come to the US.

A CEO's salary is generally decided by a board of directors responsible to the shareholders. If they feel he is worth the money who is a bureaucrat who is paid by tax payers to say otherwise?

Capped salaries on CEO's - luv it! No one should be paid millions of fucking dollars to do quite frankly - fuck all. I say that because it's the people under them that do all the work they just say the yay or nay & occasionally cop the brunt if their people fuck it up. You may not care how much money people make & that is your 'prerogative' but my personal opinion is that the division between poverty & the wealthiest needs to decreased. I don't like the term plutonomy or peasants but if your more than happy with that then so be it - even fuckwits should be allowed to make choices, I'm not going to discriminate.

That's what I'm getting at. Putting a cap on some executive's pay doesn't result in some poor person getting paid more. This isn't a zero sum game.
You know what it does result in? That poor person going "Haha, that CEO got screwed! Now back to my 40." And if CEO's didn't do but "fuck all" they wouldn't be paid millions by the SHAREHOLDERS who's money is at stake.
