:1orglaugh :nanner:  :partysml: :rofl2: Oh that's beautiful! The whole city of Buffalo is once again disappointed and all is right with the world for a few hours because the Sabres will not be playing for the cup.

HAhahah Im so happy. Go cry Sabres.

I said it when the playoffs started..."It's a fact that the Presidents Trophy winner rarely goes very far in the playoffs let alone become Stanley Cup champ."

"I went and looked up the President Trophy winners since 1986 and only 6 teams have gone on to win the cup. I wouldn't crown the Sabres just yet."

both of those statements taken from posts #595 and #596 on April 9th 2007.

That does seem odd. I think part of the reason that's true is because they have a ridiculous amount of teams that make the playoffs. It's like half the league. The more series that are played the more chances the top team has of loosing.

I'd like to see the league cut it down to 14 teams and get rid of the automatic higher seed for division winners. In the southeast division you get a team like Atlanta drawing a 3 seed when they might have 8 or 9 points less than somebody like the Islanders when they play in the tougher atlantic division.

or maybe even a round robin tournament to decide the champs.

Ducks rally back to take series lead
Teemu Selanne scored 11:57 into overtime after Scott Niedermayer's late goal forced extra time as the Ducks beat Detroit 2-1 to take a 3-2 lead in the West final.

I couldn't believe that floater off Lidstrom's stick to tie it up late and what a bad turn over in overtime. They teach pee wee kids not to skate it infront of their own net.
