Yeah, you've just contributed to kill a few thousand locals, but i guess that that's acceptable for oBama and his supporters. Or as you say: not bad at all. It must have been the same thing that oSama thought when he killed 1000's of Americans in NYC losing just a bunch of kamikazes. GET A GRIP GUYS! Read, study, think before expelling air from your mouths because the view of things of some of you is quite frankly disturbing and appalling.
You claim that you read, think and study. That's great. So I'd expect you to know the
reality of human history. The one constant that has always been with us is that we fight. We go to war, for good and bad reasons. That doesn't make it right, but that is reality... the way that it is.
Apparently you missed my sarcasm in making that post... which was a take-off on your claim that we were at war with the
nation of Libya - which we are not! So I'll spell it out for you. Maybe you haven't seen any of my other posts on these types of topics, but I am AGAINST U.S. military intervention in most all cases that don't DIRECTLY involve the United States. I am against nation building in almost any and all cases.
I despise neocons for that very reason. And as a quasi-student of the Latin Classics, I am in favor of the concept of "total war". Here is my view in a nutshell, Sabrina. If your country attacks or supports an attack on my country, I would be in favor of my nation reducing your
entire nation to rubble: every man, woman and child... every pig, chicken and cow. There's no ass whipping like a complete and total ass whipping to help a nation that wants war to get its mind right. Just as Gaius Julius Caesar did in Gaul and just as William Tecumseh Sherman did throughout the American rebel south, once you leave a wake of total destruction behind you, trouble makers
always get the message. And dead trouble makers never cause another problem. I admit, that is a VERY ugly and brutal way to conduct war. But history proves that it is effective and efficient. And my life and work revolve around doing that which is effective and efficient. But now, if your nation just happens to be headed by someone that has interests counter to ours, and the population rebels against that person, I would be against a U.S. invasion (or declaring war
). I don't really see it as our business. Maybe if we can throw a bone the rebels' way (as we did here) and get them over the hump, as long as they're prepared to do the actual "boots on the ground" fighting, that doesn't wind me up quite as much. Though the risk is in picking sides when you're not prepared to go in and deliver a sword blow yourself. But I'm still against any nation building $ being used after the fact... because I don't pay taxes so that people in foreign countries can have democracy, freedom, new roads, fast trains, apple pie or anything else!
Left to me, Japan, Korea, Israel, Egypt and most every other beggar nation on earth would have to find a way to fund their own military security...
and the American taxpayer would be OFF the hook immediately. And if the Japanese and Koreans would refuse to pay us for our soldiers protecting them, my best advice to them would be to learn to speak Chinese... QUICKLY!
