Obama's Record

if the writer of that article actually did a little bit of honest journalism he could've actually written a compelling case on what Obama has actually done (a shitty record)

Unfortunately, that article is just a regurgitation of partisan talking points and bullshit

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/about/
Since its inception in 1945, and increasingly after it emerged as the flagship of neoconservatism in the 1970s, the magazine has been consistently engaged with several large, interrelated questions: the fate of democracy and of democratic ideas in a world threatened by totalitarian ideologies; the state of American and Western security; the future of the Jews, Judaism, and Jewish culture in Israel, the United States, and around the world; and the preservation of high culture in an age of political correctness and the collapse of critical standards
I'm not one for non sequitur, but you may as well be linking to Alex Jones if the website itself is listing these traits as something to be proud of

Wow really? Obama hasn't done that bad. Lets not forget how Bush screwed us now. I think its freaking awesome how all these people that think they are Republicans and make less than 100,000 a year are going to try to take us on a repeat of Bush next election.

I got his far: "Since its inception in 1945, and increasingly after it emerged as the flagship of neoconservatism..."

While it might be interesting, I can't say that I have a great desire to hear what the people who have ruined America have to say about Obama or anything else.

O is dropping an album?

When did he cut a record deal??

So let me get this straight... enormous challenges facing the nation and the US public elects a guy with no experience running anything to run the country based on a clever catch phrase?

We got what we deserved. :2 cents:

Well, given the choices (the inexperienced catch phrase guy or the old man who suspended his campaign and had the trailer park queen running mate)... :dunno:

Unlike how I (eventually) felt after voting for Bush in 2000, even now, I still wouldn't change my vote for Obama to McCain/Palin. And if the Republicans insist on running some sort of flakey ass neo-con or Evangelical Zionist nutjob, I'm going to vote for Big Daddy O again (hear that, Georges? :D).

You do know that Congress makes policy not the President...Care to provid a list of job bills that the GOP House has put forth?

well then don't complain when most of your industry will have to relocate you in china. :D Obama is an idiot, making things two times worse by voting for him is not reassuring.

Most of the US industry HAS relocated to China...years before Obama took office.

Georges, what do you think I do for a living? I'm the "nice man" that companies hire to evaluate their operations when they sense that they have a productivity or profit issue. Basically, I go in and try to unfuck fucked up busineses. Those that are capable of being unfucked, I stick around for a year or so and try to help them transform their operations through productivity and efficiency gains. But now, those that resist my unfucking/restructuring efforts, I have to recommend that they be spun off, relocated/resourced or shut down.

This is how capitalism works, Georges. Capital knows no borders and has no patriotic loyalties. And the one group that holds those sentiments more than about any other is the Club for Growth. This is a right wing group that supports every free (unfair) trade agreement under the sun. This group's members are the same people who brought us NAFTA and encouraged your man, W. Bush, to push for China's entry into the WTO... FAST TRACK!

I do what I do and I'm not ashamed of it... though I don't always enjoy it. But don't pretend that Obama's policies are to blame for the outsourcing of business overseas, when if the GOPers had their way, I'd be on a plane to Mexico or China right now.

Wages are lower in China and other parts of Asia than they are here. Quality, in many cases, is just as high. Yet the song of the GOPers is that "if we'd just cut taxes and de-regulate, everything will be fine here." To which I say, bullshit! Taxes are a result of profits. And the input component that most affects profitability (outside of basic demand) is labor. That is simply a fact. If you don't believe me, just crack open any first year business administration book. So unless some genius GOPer believes that the average American wage earner should be making 70 cents an hour (and some probably do), it's going to be pretty dang hard to compete with the Chinese or the Mexicans on labor costs. And de-regulation is a BIG part of what caused the financial crisis.

I'll say this until I draw my final breath: never again in my lifetime will I vote for a neo-con or one of these asshat fake "fiscal conservatives" (who are really just garden variety Evangelical/Zionist, social conservatives). I would sooner see Donald Duck in the White House than a Michele Bachmann or a Rick Perry. Perry is definitely a better choice than that half-educated loon, Michele Bachmann. But he is still just another (dumber) version of George W. Bush. And that dumb bastard quite nearly polished us off, what with his senseless, directionless policies and his nation-building, Holy Wars of Vengeance in the Middle East.

Despite what I sometimes have to do in my job, I want this nation to be successful. And I want its people to have the highest possible living standards - and not just those who can conveniently transfer capital offshore and make even more money than they can here! So no more slick talking, bible thumping, "free market solution", fake fiscal conservatives for me!

As my Jewish friends often proclaim:
NEVER AGAIN!!!
