:dunno: What, are you trying to win a jr. Einstein award or something? Reason 1.) 1 guy's presidency is completed the other hasn't even completed his first year of his first term. Reason 2.) If the claim is, "the little guy" does poorer under Demos than GOPers...what would be gleaned by comparing a Demo to a Demo??? Reason 3.) The expression "comparing apples and oranges" refers to comparing two, unlike things when comparing like things are called for. You don't compare "apples to apples" when the contrasting of two unlike things are called for.

I can surmise the he wasn't a particularly kind man...but you should know in the history of Iraq....weak leaders there who don't crush fomenting opposition end up with their heads separated from their bodies. Don't the past 6 years tell you a little about how opposition plays in Iraq?
Beyond ALL THAT, the fact of the matter is...if we were told that we were going there to stop Saddam from being ruthless to his own people....Bush might have gotten one Senate vote from Lieberman to invade for that. But no other persons would have chosen to send Americans to die for something Iraqis weren't willing to die for themselves...Duh!!!
Worse yet, the very goobers in the Bush Administration ratcheting up the rhetoric against SH for his alleged ********* were some of the same goobers who helped him do it.

True, Saddam was a bad dude. So is Kim Jong Il. So is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. And if they ever ****** (or support an ******) against the United States, I say we call in the 101st and the 82nd. But more Americans are affected by the crime on the Mexico/U.S. border than by anything that's happening in Iraq, Iran, North Korea or any of these other shitholes. And if we're in a position to give some assistance to the downtrodden, then I'm all for it... IF WE HAVE SOMETHING TO SPARE. But we are now the biggest debtor nation on the face of the earth. We are now the greatest debtor nation in the history of mankind. We ain't got it to give, folks! Sorry, but America is closed for business. We are tapped the fuck out! We're having to beg China for $ so we can build bridges in the U.S. So we can no longer afford to come to your country and blow your bridges up... so we can build new ones for you. We can't come to your country and blow your oil wells up, rebuild them... and let you keep all the revenues.
The bill for Iraq alone is knocking on $1 TRILLION... and it grows everyday. One way or another, the United States is going to have to get out of this mindset that we are the policemen of the world. And if your county isn't being run the way that we think it should, we'll roll in with our troops (and our taxpayer $) and fix your **** for you. If these teabag assholes were at all consistent in their (recent) message of fiscal responsibility, I could actually see their point. But all they see is domestic spending. As long as the $ are leaving the U.S. for some Godforsaken cesspool, it seems like they're all for that. But hell no, don't EVEN talk about building a levy or a bridge in the U.S. That there is that by gawd communism/socialism/fascism/make-up-a-wordism. I voted for W. the first time because he said he was against Nation Building. Great, so was I. That lying mofo! I accept the nation building in Afghanistan for what it is. I agreed with Bush going there. He botched the mission, but I agreed with the overall move. But Iraq? Hell no!

The justification for sending Americans to Iraq was to protect Americans not Iraqis. If it was for that, it wouldn't have gotten a single vote for authorization.
BTW, Meester....once having had something doesn't mean you will always possess it....like $100 or WMDs that are being sought and destroyed by some process for example.
How many leaders from Saddam' regime (including him) were executed under our watch there??? Just because they weren't summarily executed doesn't make it any different.....
