Obama supports building a mosque at ground zero

The real spread of Islam didn't start until after the death of Mohammed in 632 AD. Jewish people have lived in present day Israel since around 1,250 BC. So, by my count Jews have inhabited current day Israel for ~1,900 years longer than Muslims, and ~1,250 years longer than Christians.

Do you agree there were people irrespective of faith who live in that land before Judaism or Islam?

That would be the point P/R because it all relates to when a group feels they were displaced and that they all live their in relative peace before either of them were displaced.

You might want to rethink that. American association with Israel is the source of much of the hatred that the middles east holds for the US and therefore the terrorism. The US also took out Saddam for Israel (who else could his crappy scud missiles reach) at the cost of over 4000 US lives and will no doubt also fight Iran (again to protect Israel) at the cost of who knows how many more US servicemen and women. And just ask the crew of the USS Liberty what happens when the US dares to go against the interests of the Israeli government, the loyalty will always only work one way. Why do you think Britain cut all its ties with the middle east despite ruling over much of it for so long, its just not worth the hassle.

Well we're not going to give up Israel simply because a bunch of Arabs/Persians etc want us too.
They are our number one ally in the region.

Simply accept the fact that Israel and the Jews aren't going anywhere.

There are Arab parties that have no interest in having the Palestinian issue settled. Why? Because when domestic times go sour they can always rely on the Palestinian/Israel conflict to deflect attention.

Do you honestly think the dolts in Hamas and Hezbollah will have a job if the Pale situation is resolved? No they'll be looking for work and I don't see a company wanting to hire an ex-terrorist.

This story didn't just come out of the blue. The NY Times did a story on the center in December of 2009 and it wasn't a problem then even Laura Ingraham came out at the time and supported the project. So why is this story, which goes back to December of 2009, now just becoming news? It's an election year and it's time for the right to start scaring white people.

Have any of you ever read the bible? It's full of violence, racism and murder and according to the word of god entire cities should be destroyed and everyone in it should be slaughtered if they don't believe in him. God as described in the bible is malicious, violent, vindictive, petty, jealous and a hypocrit. Now most Christians don't literally follow what it says in the bible just like most Muslims don't literally follow what it says in the Quran. The only difference is that when talking about Islam fear and prejudice come into play.

As to my friend, you're totally wrong. He's a devout Muslim and he's one of the kindest, hardworking, honest and brave men you could ever meet. His faith is what makes him who he is and even tho I'm not a believer he loves me nonetheless and he's been a big influence in my life. He even spoke @ my wedding. Now how about that, a devout Imam wishing a lesbian couple long life and happiness ;)

I agree with part of your reference to the Bible, especially the Old Testament. I'm a Christian but I do not take it literally because after hundreds of years and translations, it's not the words that matter but the ideas. And yes, I read everything including the Bible, and I prefer for personal reasons the New Testament. The problem comes with "fundamentalists" of any religion, who take these holy books literally, and most Islamic countries literally brain wash children with the memorization and literal meaning of the Koran, and that is why we have a lot of problems...

I'm sure your friend is a great guy, and I do not suggest that some people who worship God in any way can't be awesome, rational people. What I did say is that you cannot be a FUNDAMENTALIST Muslim and expect to be trusted, because if you believe what is in the Koran, it's a sanction for a Muslim to lie, cheat, steal, and kill unbelievers. Remember, unlike Jesus, Muhammad spread the word at the point of the sword. There's even a story in the Koran where he is credited with beheading over 500 Jews after taking a town and ordering them to convert or die. Islam, as preached literally, cannot coexist with other religions unless the unbelievers convert, or become slaves.

To back up my claim with facts and not just opinion, do a google search for current conflicts/wars around the globe. Over 90% of current conflicts raging on the earth involve Islamic states or causes. Coincidence? I don't think so...:2 cents:

Well, at least one good thing has come out of this. 3 months ago, 90% of Americans didn't even know what a Mosque was.

Being as this is a community centre with a prayer room in it and not a Mosque, I'm guessing that stat hasn't changed all that much.

^ I bet they went and googled it before they got all protesty, though.

This guy sums up the situation about as well as anyone I've heard.

I stopped watching when the sap says, "and the religion that murdered them"...

A religion didn't murder them no more than the airplane or box cutter did. And Islam didn't murder these people nor more than Christianity murdered Dr. Tiller.

Religion served no greater purpose than did the box cutter, airplane or firearm in Tiller's case as a tool to be exploited for murder.

Saying Muslims building a Memorial center in memory of the 9/11 victims is akin to stepping on their graves (or whatever the clown says) is like saying Germans can't build some memorial to Jews slaughtered in the Holocaust without it being an insult. How dumb is that?

Germans may have killed Jews but being German didn't cause them to kill Jews.

Yeah, he 'sums' the situation up alright. He's a fucking idiot.

om3ga

It's good to be the king...
1. It isn't a mosque from what I've read. 2. There are already plenty of mosques in the vicinity of ground zero. I don't see anyone proposing those mosques move.

Hey - why let the truth get in the way of a good story.......:D

I remember watching one of his videos a while back (which I have to say isn't a regular occurrence), in it he stated that the United States constitution is probably the most important document ever written in terms of the freedoms it allows. So, after witnessing this kind of diatribe it begs the question: why is he taking a large shit on it now?

The man's an imbecile; a UKIP voting imbecile if I remember correctly. Which says just about everything needed to be said about that man and his biases, right there.

I see you are up to your usual form. You managed to call the guy a sap, a clown, and an F'ing idiot, all in one short post.

So let me get this right. You actually believe the aim of the muslims here is to build a memorial center in memory of the 9/11 victims?

What else should I call a person blaming Islam (or any other religion) for killing someone?:dunno:

I would call him a fucking idiot for that just as soon as I would call someone blaming a killing on a "gun" or Christianity.:2 cents:

Well, it's been reported a memorial to 9/11 is also part of this structure and until it's proven otherwise that's all I, you or this sap has to go by. Right?

Unless you hopelessly believe all Muslims are anti American. In that case, there's nothing else to discuss with you on it.

Nearly 3,000 were murdered in the name of Islam by Takfiri Sunnis.
