Now this was a damn good movie.

On my quest to find decent viewing material I came across an old movie.
Papillon with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.

Well thought out and powerful acting.
By the end of the film I was almost in tears.

When I see films like that and then I get treated to stuff like "Dude where is my car." I'm left asking why things in the entertainment biz appear to have gone down hill.

For example Star Wars.
Episodes 4-6 were great but the modern 1-3 left you with a less than satisfied feeling.

Oh well....
I'll refrain from further commentary.

Good call Kelly!

It's a great movie, made even moreso by being a true story.

"Shawshank Redeption" had some of the same compelling elements, what with depicting an innocent man's long and determined odyssey to be free from imprisonment.

Another Steve McQueen movie that's well worth a rent is "The Sand Pebbles".
