Nike Shoes are a Terrible Product...

I've actually had some good experience with Nike's, the ones I got I've had since 2002, for the last year the sole has been detached a bit on the side, nothing a little crazy glue won't fix, and they're VERY worn out, even peeling a bit, but they're still very comfortable. The pair I had before this one I had them from around 99 to 2003 and when I got rid of them they were in a much better shape than this pair, I just liked this newer pair more. But now I can't find another pair like them, they're Nike's hiking shoes.

adidas are good quality, but they are also overpriced and sweatshop made.

If you want some good shoe deals just drive around until you see some mexicans selling them out of a truck on the corner.

really, when you think about it it's the same thing as buying them from walmart, it just cuts out the middle man.

Good point. I see those trucks in my neighborhood from time to time as well. I was actually goint to purchase direct from China, about 15 grand worth. My buddy had some connection or some shit, and then I was going to sell them on ebay. Knock offs. That never went through though.

I fucking hate Nike and will never even think about buying a pair.I've exclusively worn Adidas ever since high school and haven't looked back.

I will say,I don't know if Nike quality is inferior to other shoes, but I refuse to pay extra money just to have a "swoosh" on the side of my foot.

And you have to think about why exactly are Nike the most expensive athletic shoe. It's simple. When you endorse Kobe Bryant,LeBron James,Tiger Woods,The Williams Sisters,Maria Sharapova, and all the other big name atheles, you are essentially paying their endorsement checks.Screw that! Now I know that Adidas endorses athletes as well, but at least it seems like they aren't trying to "stick it to you" just because you are buying their particular brand.

:2 cents:

What happens with brands like Nike is that you end up just buying the name. The product is a piece of shit, but they know that consumers will keep buying the name, so they have no pressure to make quality products.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

i just but "new balance" shoes for athletics. They "fit like a glove", and hold up well. But since they come in different widths, try em on first

Why are you "quoting everything" ?

To the topic- I buy Nike shoes whenever I have to replace the last pair, and I think the shoes are great. I can usually get 1-2 years out of a pair, but then, I'll keep the old ones for a while even after getting new ones (lawn mowing shoes!).

Never had a problem with them. Had problems with Adidas, New Balance, Avia, and Reebok, though.

Nike/Jordan's are pretty much the only brand i will buy. I have had bad luck with the quality/feel of other brands and never had any such issues with Nike.

Have only 2 pairs of NIKE's. My AF-1 have lasted close to 10 years. Personally, Addidas and Puma are my shoe of choice.

The last time our country made good shoes let alone anybody else in the world was probably before I was born. That's why I wear nothing but boots anymore. You can actually find pair of boots that aren't made in a sweatshop by exploited labor, and the oldest pair I have that I wear on a frequent basis (in fact I'm wearing them now)was bought a little before 1994 and they still haven’t fallen apart. I have never had a pair of athletic shoes last more than a year or two even under moderate use.

I like getting new runners like every couple months, I hate when the look dirty and old.. shoes can tell a lot about someone..

I have 3 pair of Air Speed shoes I got from WalMart: http://www.airspeed.us/  You can actually get them clearance at some Walmarts for like 12 bucks. They are dope, good quality shoes. I also have a couple pair of brand new Reeboks I have yet to wear, a pair of old school Air Force One's I have yet to where, Adidas my girl bought me on clearance for $10 at Kohls that I have yet to wear. I also have some Mossimo white kicks brand new from Target I got for like $10. :D I have several other pairs that are still NIB (New in box), like Saucony and Starter. I have some Doc Martin boots I've had for probably 10 years I ususally don't wear. Yes, I have too many damn shoes. But I know quality when I use it.

I believe most shoes have been made in Asia for probably 20 years or longer now. Nike shoes might be shit, but it could be that you got a fucked pair of shoes and the rest of the batch was great.

product name and a cliche, my bad habit i guess

To be honest, I might even rather have a pair of Starbury's than some Nikes. :D They're like 10 bucks at your local cheap clothes pervayor.

You know, I think I remember reading about these somewhere. Are they hard find? I found their website where they can be purchased, but are the big box stores selling them?
