I might be taking a trip down to Tennessee sometime this year, chances are I'll try to make it to a Predators game.

Phoenix's ownership deadline is at the end of the month. Should be interesting to see what happens. The Winnipeg people are getting worked up again. God, how I hate them and their shitty arena. Can't wait until that team moves in ten years, too.

But they have the Manitoba Moose. :hatsoff:

ok, enough of Mike Smith. trade him for whatever we can get and call up Tokarski.

or maybe try to trade for a goalie. Tokarski and Desjardins aren't so hot right now either.

and to top it off, Crosby won't stop scoring and Stamkos won't start up again. i feel like throwing a fireball like Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat.

Whoa, I just got a call from the Devil. He says Hell just froze over and he wonders if he can borrow a jacket.

I wonder what will happen to the Moose if the Jets return. I've heard people talking about moving them to Thunder Bay, Ontario. I don't know why; that's the middle of butt-fuck nowhere. They'd do good to move the Moose to Saskatoon. We're twice the size of Thunder Bay, our arena is bigger than Winnipeg's and we haven't had a pro team since the twenties.

That aside, how good of a goalie is Tim Thomas? Damn.

Both Tampa goalies are a joke , Please Steve Yzerman make a move , all we need is a good goalie not even a great one !

I loved the Moose and was in tears when they left. :crying:

That is something that your area has not had a team in that long. But seriously, there really isn't much in Saskatchewan anyway, is there?

There's more in Saskatchewan than there is in Thunder Bay. The only difference is we have way more people and would probably be a more attractive place to put a team from a business aspect because we actually have things called corporations that would buy luxury boxes. We only have one pro sports team in the province (the Roughriders), but they sell more merchandise every year than every sports team in the country save the Leafs and Canadiens. Not to mention there was talks of having the Coyotes play games here. The support would be there for a team, I really don't know why the league thinks places like Thunder Bay and St. John's are places to put a team. :dunno:

That's weird that the provence doesn't at least have an AHL team. The cool thing about the IHL/AHL is you get to see guys coming up and shit. First time I saw Ziggy Palfy live was at an IHL game. It's not the freakin' NHL by a long shot, but it ain't bad. They need to find little niche towns like Hershey, PA that will support teams. Big cities just aren't a great fit for those types of teams, imo.

The Oilers just put their AHL team in Oklahoma City. It makes sense because there probably is more money to be made there if the team is doing good, but I don't know if would be a better choice overall. Attendance would probably be really similar, but if they put the team in Saskatoon they would have had Oilers fans coming for games to get a look at the prospects.

While everything you say is true, you forgot to mention that Saskatchewan Roughriders fans are the most obnoxious people on the face of the planet. I NEVER root for a French Canadian team over a Canadian team, but you bet I did at this year's Grey Cup just because I couldn't stand the thought of those punks cheering a Grey Cup victory.

Alouette, gentille Alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai

YEAH!

OC is a weird place, I think. It's a "big city," but it's not really crazy big city style/culture. One thing is for sure, there is NO puck whatsoever down there with all those shit kickers, so maybe it will be a draw just from a curiosity standpoint.

On a similar note, the Wild are not selling out anymore. I don't know what it is, but Minnesota fans are a weird lot. They broke MLB attendance records, but there was only a few thousand showing up to the Stars games before they headed south. Then, they get their Wild, sell out every damn seat for 10 years, and now it falls off. My dad was a season ticket holder for the first five years, but I am almost glad he is no longer. I can go down in front of the X just before the game and get a $60 ticket for 5 bucks now. Serves those cocksuckers right for getting rid of Gabby.

In a nutshell, fan support is an anomaly.

I'll agree with you on that one (I actually bet on the Alouettes to win this year, ended up winning), but practically every Canadian who is a fan of a sports team is obnoxious. Leafs fans, Canadiens fans, Oilers fans (at least when they are talking about their history and not just the current team), Rider fans, hell, even when it comes to the national hockey team we are the most obnoxious country in the world ("Americans on ice?! HA!"). The only fans who aren't ever obnoxious are Raptors fans. :dunno:
