New Bill Will Force People to Register With the State and Pay a Fee to Watch Porn

Lawmakers are seeking to invade the privacy of citizens with a bill requiring them to pay the government for the privilege of viewing pornography online.

Citizens of the state of Virginia may have to start paying the government a fee in order to access adult websites. The Orwellian and unconstitutional bill is being presented under the guise of the prevention of human trafficking. Lawmakers in the state recently proposed Virginia House Bill 1592, which is also known as “The Human Trafficking Prevention Act.”

Advocates of the bill claim that locking pornographic sites behind a $20 paywall will somehow prevent human trafficking. However, the bill has created a great deal of controversy in the state, as many people rightfully see this as an invasion of privacy and an infringement of their rights. Also, there has been no real explanation from the government as to how they determined that pornography was related to human trafficking.

Many Virginia residents have said they disagree with the bill.

“I think that’s a freedom we all have as Americans, I just don’t see the relevance at all,” Grace Owens told reporters.

“It’s like a sin tax, getting cigarettes or alcohol or anything else,” said Charles Plant.

Sadly, however, there are some people who actually support this.

“If people want to view pornography, that’s their prerogative. But by having it free, it makes it too tempting for other people on the web to have access that can be influenced in a negative way,” Terrie Foss said.

Others who were interviewed by reporters about the proposed bill authored slightly less authoritarian solutions, such as only banning specific types of porn.

“I feel there are a lot of side alleys you could go down, maybe only types of porn verses other types,” a woman named Carrie said during a street interview.

Since this is only happening in one area, for now, if the law is passed it will still be possible for Virginia residents to use a VPN service so the internet service provider thinks that they are accessing the site from another state or country.

It is estimated that 28,258 users — every single second — access porn on the internet. Those numbers are staggering and allowing government access to all those identities would be a death blow to online privacy.

Bored Government Workers Spend Their Days Watching Porn

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/kevin...rkers-spend-their-days-watching-porn-n1874007

Looks like more wasteful government jobs need to be cut and they wouldn't be so bored or start trying to pass more laws that aren't needed. Especially more taxes that aren't needed More taxes to pay for their worthless jobs.

You know, come think of it, I've noticed after every porn video I watch online I wake up the next day in some seedy hotel room with a suitcase of money, a cocktail napkin telling me where I am at and how to get home with the instructions "flush immediately" and some random name on it. I think I been blacking out watching porn and contributing in human trafficking:eek:

Oh my! What happens if I download and watch it???? Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no....

I can't do this anymore!

:suicide:

It's no more crazy than the UK forcing porn sites to ID their visitors come april this year.

All I can say to that is that I'd better go buy some insanely large external HD's and download a shit load of goodies before April.

And I'm wondering if that will affect this site too?

Eventually it will affect our UK traffic.

I've been talking to AVS vendors but nobody really knows how to handle a site like FreeOnes.

And of course the world is watching. I'm sure Australia is frothing at the mouth to make a move like the UK and I'm also sure the GOP (especially Pence and Sessions) is watching to see if it'll work. So it might have more consequence than just UK.

Not just this one. Almost any forum that is for adults, no matter the stated purpose has some mention or discussion relating to porn or nakedness. Will that mean the numpties from the BBFC be applying these same rules to those forums?

if this bill passes and when it's inevitably brought before the Supreme Court, I don't see how it passes constitutional (a hedge against the know-betters) muster.

in this, I am with the Larry Flynts of the world.

America.

Yup.

What's going to happen is the UK is going for the big guys first. Pornhub (which is why they're developing an AVS system of their own) and the other big tubes. Then all the big pay sites and cam sites. Then it will be the clip sites and any other adult site like freeones that gets a decent amount of traffic.

If that's all successful then they'll go on the witch hunt for all the small time blogs, tiny niche pay sites, forums, etc.

But it also affects a lot of other sites that aren't porn. Gambling, tobacco, vaping, marijuana, cbd, guns, etc and so on. Wouldn't be surprised if CoD and GTA will have to put AVS for the violence.

I still just roll my eyes at the denial that the UK consumes and enjoys porn on a regular basis, just like the entire rest of the world.

Forbidden fruit tastes even sweeter.
