are you insane? kentucky devotes way more to basketball then football. florida is the exact opposite. kentucky can offer way more money then florida can to whats his name. why play second fiddle to football when he can be top dog at kentucky?
Then why am I reading how Florida only sold out 1 non conference game all year - ohio state - and you are the national champions? In contrast Kentucky sold out 30,000 for their preseason midnight scrimmages and everyone knew they were gonna suck. You really think your school can compete with that?
Open your eyes man. Florida is not a basketball state. In Kentucky basketball is a religion. Ever heard of the Louisville / Kentucky rivalry? Basketball is king there. Donovan will be treated like a God - just like Pitino - and he knows it. Plus they will offer him WAY more money than Florida ever will.
Ex: Steve Alford just left Iowa - a football school- for New Mexico, because he wants to go where baskteball is king. Coaches are all the same.
Florida aint a basketball state, but Gainesville is just as die hard as Lexington. Fuck the rivalries, Florida will give him a contract extension and a helluva pay raise after we repeat. Face it, we run this college sports ****.
