My POSSIBLE Hiatus/Retirement

Please read! You will see some output in the future, I am not quitting or retiring, just on hiatus!

And if you come back to the addult industry, it's always a good thing to now how it is to live a "normal", with a normal "job", etc...

So, at fierst what hapened to you may seem harsh but bottomline, it could be a a good thing, in the end.

That`s shitty but as you say, family comes first.Whatever you decide to do,good luck.Hope you`ll stay in touch with us here.

I will come back. And hey, I was once a 18-year-old with a job at Starbucks... and I worked various day jobs in high school before I got into porn. :p

when I was caught smoking weed at my parents house at the age of 18, they got angry and said, "ASLONG AS YOU LIVE IN MY HOUSE YOU WILL NOT BE DOING THAT SHIT!!" was pretty intense moment I remember, so I left and got my first efficiency apartment, yes I was still in school and working, and yes it was a struggle but i can remember having my own flat, seating on my couch, joint in my hand, feeling somewhat proud, not because I left but because I stood up to my folks and decided to be responsible at an earlier age. I never went back to live with my folks. I finished school, paid my bills, and never have been in debt. so dont be afraid to venture out, wether you have friends or not. I didnt have friends, my older sister co-signed the apartment. now i have a home with a great girlfriend for the last 9 years. and yes i still smoke herb.

funny thing about it is that a week after i left, my mother called and wanted me back :1orglaugh

Haha, great story.

That's amazing that you didn't fuck yourself into a hole of debt, because if I suddenly moved out say... this week, I'd be completely screwed. I'm not necessarily afriad to venture out, I just fear that it may take a bunch of time for me to save up the money. That, and I also need to buy car insurance so that I can use my damn car!

Hey Kimora,

it is very good to learn about you getting ahead in life and your career and that you are shouldering it a step at a time.

I still remember my first steps into having my first own place to live and how waking up in a place where nobody is telling me what I can or cannot do or just walk in and go through my stuff.

It is really liberating and I would not go back. I had to for some weeks, because my flat was to be completley overhauled and it was a HUGE pain in hte ass to share a flat with my mother for three weeks.

Next time I'd rather cut down on every other expenses and live in a boardinghouse :2 cents:

I don't know you and haven't talked to you but just want to say that you shouldn't be afraid to venture out on your own. I was forced to leave my parents house when I was 18, because I chose not to follow their faith. My parents didn't want me to live in their home anymore because they didn't want me having an influence on my younger brothers. I literally left my parents home with $295 dollars and somehow made it out ok. Found a super tiny bachelor pad, got a job that paid the rent and in the last 7 years since I've worked my way through school, travelled halfway across the country to where I live now and now I live in a gorgeous home, have a full education, own my own business and am loving life living it MY way. You seem like a smart and motivated girl- don't compromise yourself for anyone, even if they are family. If they love you, they will accept you doing what makes YOU happy. As long as you respect yourself and are safe with whatever you do...you should keep doing it IMO. :) Good luck girlie.

That is amazing! Good for you, I can only hope that I'm that lucky. I'm in school at the moment -- can't wait to graduate and be a porn star with a degree... being all independent and shizz, running my brand. :)

STORY OF MY LIFE! My parents' attitude is, "I don't care if it's your room, it's my house." I am sooo looking forward to moving out. I already had a four-month taste of freedom when I was living out of state at another college and man did I savor it. Soon soon!

Soon you will be free to do as you please. You only live once so enjoy it but be careful. :D

I'm sorry to hear that. Family issues are really difficult and I'm sure things are/will be difficult for a while but this sort of stuff does blow over. Sure, momma might not be proud, but if you love what you do for a living, then you're obviously doing something right.

Good luck.

Family or not the decisions that you make in your life you and you only have to answer for. They are not responsible for your life and do not have to take the financial hit for you having to stop work. Their morals say its wrong fine but morals are only based on the civilization you live in. To some it would be against their morals to work at a coffee house that charges $6 for a cup of coffee does that mean they are wrong? No because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it shouldnt be pushed on other people. The fact that you live under their roof does complicate things but I would make finding a place your top priority and not quiting something that you have no reason to quit. If your family member doesnt like the car you drive are you going to sell it? Or if you get a husband they disprove of are you going to divorce them? A true loving family member supports your decisions no matter what they be. They may not agree but they support you and your happiness

Please read before you go making lengthy replies. I am not quitting.

And my family members are true and loving as fuck, they're just Roman Catholic. They will NEVER support this, but that doesn't mean they don't love me... and that's fine by me.
