My Obama Problem

I'm a liberal who's disappointed in Obama, but I'm not disappointed enough that I'd vote Republican. What do I do? Anyone else find themselves in the same situation? One guy who does interest me though is Jon Huntsman. This past week he's shown that he's one of the adults in the room by saying he supports civil unions and believes in climate change and evolution. He's positioned himself as a moderate in a party who's presidential candidates are battling to see who can get farthest to the right. This moderate strategy might now work in 2012 but it might just work in 2016.

Oh...I thought you were about to relate to us some rash you just got that O was responsible for.

Whew!!! I can only take so much of the fucker as it is an this would have probably been the last straw ...breaking my man IC out and stuff...

I also like Huntsman, though he won't get the nod from the GOP. Either they'll put up the runner up as they have been in Romney or they're gonna go to the far right...Either way, I think Obama is gonna get a second term.

Which I hope he would use to show everyone what a REAL left wing, Marxist, Socialist, Kenya born, Muslim is all about.

I really hear you. I had high hopes for the Obama administration, but the administration as a whole has been highly disappointing. What do we do? Vote for Bachmann? Not a fucking chance. I think that a sitting, disappointing President is a far cry better than a bat-shit crazy disaster waiting to happen.

If a better option came along, they'd get my vote. I don't see one on the horizon, and I AM interested to see what the Obama administration might accomplish with a second term and a thoroughly destroyed GOP.

Good post and well put.

...and believes in climate change and evolution.

How crazy is that? That we have to point out when a Republican believes in facts.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
republican, democrat. Both parties are a fuckin joke. People who refuse to vote for one party over the other based solely on the fact that they are republican or democrat are part of what's wrong with this fucked up country of ours. Who fuckin cares which they are, you should vote based on what type of person they are. Not what they or their party stands for. Fuckin idiots!

So many traitors to the One.

Look. I know you would vote in a single celled organism to avoid the "evil" that is a second Obama term, but don't expect everyone to have taken the same stupid pills as you, okay? How about you leave a tiny fucking modicum of space in the political threads that you don't despoil with your vitriol toward the current administration?

Bill and Ted shyaaaahhh!

I'm going to go ahead and guess that means something to you. I'm not going to care enough to figure out what that could possibly mean, except you working hard to derail another thread in which people are trying to have a discussion. Jebus forbid people discuss things here. Just push your single point. Anyone but Obama.

Now that we've heard it, can we continue?

You should vote based on what their policies are. I'm a liberal but I would definitely vote for a conservative if I truly believed that they could do some good for the country. As I said in an earlier post, Jon Hunstman interests me because he's a moderate Republican and he seems to have his shit together unlike the others who are all batshit crazy. While everyone else is trying to get farthest to the right, he's decided that he's going to position himself right at the center right.

An excellent point. For example, Bill Clinton. What a morally reprehensible person, but it is undeniable that he did good things for the nation.

Vote for the best candidate. Party be damned.

Nader ? Kuccinich?

It would be nice if Obama was challenged by his own party. It seems Obama and what he has accomplished would appeal more to a Republican base more than anyone else.

it is hard for his plans to go through with Congress turning them down

What has he accomplished that should size him up as a GOPer? Killing OBL? Saving Chrysler and GM?

Not saying at all that Obama has been perfect but I suppose that would be the point R/C...I would say he's good and in that sense I wouldn't make the perfect the enemy of the good.

The GOP doesn't remember that Obama enacted the largest middle class tax cut in history under the stimulus.

yes, i can see that you are a liberal.
my condolences.

you do realize however that there are much bigger problems than whether or not 2 dudes or les'bos can get married, believing that the earth is getting hotter(which even if it is they aint gonna do shit to stop it), and believing in evolution which is obvious ?

No republican is worth your vote right now so you have two options. 1 See who is going to run as an independent or 2 Vote Obama again and hope he has learned and he does better on his second term.
