It turns out she is a huge MTV fan and watches those stupid ass shows like it's her job. I can't be with someone who watches these shows and lives vicariously through these spoiled assholes on tv.

Are you wrong for thinking that MTV is fucking stupid? No, I've thought the same thing since I was twelve. However, the question is, do her other qualities out-weigh the fact that she's an MTV fanatic? Sometimes you just have to take the good with the bad, man.

I think the easiest thing to do is to just get rid of your cable or satellite,or just hide the box whenever she's over and say that you got rid of it.When she's over and wants to watch something,just throw in a dvd and call it an evening.When she leaves,hook your stuff back up and enjoy your tv again.

Or just put up with it until you are comfortable telling her that you ain't watching that shit anymore.

While it's hard not too judge, it is difficult to accept the ways of other people.
If we watch sports all day long or live for Sundays for the football, are we being lumped into some category just because we like a certain entertainment? I like to visit this board and check out nekkid chicks on the net - that's part of my entertainment - along with watching the game that's on right now. I also like A&E and the History channel sometimes, that does not make me a boring historion.
Her entertainment should not be too harshly judged. Remember there are grown people who watch The Simpsons and that's a freakin' cartoon.
