1789-French Revolution signifies the beginning of the end of the Absolutism and that people want to be independent
1945-World War II, bloodiest and most barbaric event in human history. Probably the biggest war ever in the history of the world past and future.

my 5th one would have to be 1215 (signing of the Magna Carta, limiting the British Monarch's rights. First document to ever restrict a monarch in the history of the world) or 1492 (Columbus stumbling upon the "New World")
