Mortal Kombat vs. DC

Anyone played the Mortal Kombat vs. DC game?
Talk about two worlds colliding! I know there has been Marvel vs. Capcom in the past but this seemed quite a rare and bizarre idea.

The MK series has been grasping at straws since MK3...Maybe if they did a vs. with Capcom or SNK I'd be re-interested in the series...I remember when it was fresh and shiny (shiny with BLOOD!) new...Characters that were actually people, egregious amounts of blood and brutal finishing moves...Things changed and the uber-violence aspect became dated and people realized that the gameplay just wasn't as strong as the competition.

Pairing heroes that don't kill with a bunch of contestants in killing fighting matches makes little sense...DC has mostly shite for villains anyways...maybe if they included people from the DC offbrands like Wildstorm and Vertigo this would be REALLY interesting...

I've heard from people that both loved & disliked the game. I'm waiting for a price drop before I pick it up. Don't see why they didn't just add the WildStorm characters or Lobo since those are the only DC characters that can use gory violence. Personally, I think its a waste to have DC characters in the game because you know none of the heroes will ever be allowed to kill.

Eh... the second I heard about this game I hated it. MK vs DC just sounds retarded. Is there even a story plot to it or some kind of background?

Marvel vs. Capcom is my all time favorite fighting game. So far I haven't played a fighting game that can live up to that game.

I don't think sounds any stupid than Marvel vs. Capcom. I actually like Marvel vs. Capcom and will be downloading it to my XBOX 360 later this month but I think it's way too over-hyped. It is a very good fighting game but I've played way better.

I think the stupid part comes from the fact that it's MORTAL Kombat. These are characters in a series that's about fight-to-the-death competitions...Now they've got 'em fighting Super Heroes that for the most part have strict codes against killing. That's quite a few steps away from the Capcom's brand of street fights (you could argue that a Shinku Hadoken should probably fry someone to the bone)...Though the heroes of Marvel have been known to have more of an edge to them than those of DC, they too for the most part aren't quick to deal out death (exceptions perhaps should go to Wolverine and a few of the other playable Heroes from the Marvel side of the Capcom Vs series)...*shrugs*

Exactly. Most of the DC Heroes do not kill as a way of solving a situation. I don't think Superman even killed anyone before, right? I have a feeling he did, but I cant remember atm - haven't read any Superman comics in ages.

DC heroes do brutalities, in other words beat the living shit out of you, but kill you in the finisher.

Can anyone think of a DC hero that kills? I mean Mavel has Punisher, Wolverine, Black Widow, Blade, Deadpool (a Merc, not a hero, but I digress), Elektra, etc. Who the hell does DC have?!

I think Green Arrow doesn't have qualms with killing, but I'm not sure...

Marvel on the other hand, like mentioned by Master_Gio is chalk full of anti-heroes more than willing to spill blood...Punisher, Deadpool and Elektra SHOULD have been in the Vs. series! wtf was up with that!? Oh how I wish Capcom still had the Marvel license...Their Vs. series just hasn't been the same (though I still want to play the Namco and Tatsunoko ones)...*sighs and continues to dream of Marvel vs Capcom vs SNK vs Square-Enix*

Because most of them suck? I've seen some ok fan made games with a crapload of characters from everywhere before though that wasn't MUGEN that looked okay, but the sprites were somewhere around Tales of Phantasia size and style...

I actually think this game would have really worked w/ Marvel's heroes. Still, DC vs. MK is a great, fun game. In fact, i like it more than Street Fighter IV.
