I'm picking Bruce and LaRoche. I think Bruce has the highest ceiling of anyone listed and I think LaRoche is the most ready right now.

Many of these men should have excellent campaigns and all will probably be given a lot of time to adjust to the major leagues even if they slump early. I have doubts about whether Barton and Longoria are ready for the major leagues though.

Soto is a decent catcher who's numbers should come back down to earth this season after a phenomenal last year. Great topic, Will E!

Jacoby Ellsbury

Ellsbury was not listed in that article, probably only because they said they were only including players who had under 100 major league at-bats.

He certainly looked good though at the end of last year. He will probably start in CF for the Sox instead of Coco Crisp. Either way they are looking to trade Crisp and Ellsbury will be the CF of the future.

PS-I just read that your Red Sox signed Bartolo Colon!

good call mar603 longoria will be like braun of the brewers without the errors
the rest of them will do well with votto being the next best

As a Cardinals fan, I hope Daric Barton is a bust. If he is a superstar, I will be even more disgusted by that trade with Oakland back in 2004 for Mulder. I think Longoria has a good shot at being something special. That Tampa Bay team is going to be good one of these days, it just has to happen with all the talent they have.

From what I've heard, Jay Bruce has the highest upside career-wise. I think he's a year away from having a real impact, though.

As far as who will have the best 2008, I'll say Chamberlain. After a month or two in the bullpen the yanks will let him loose in the starting rotation. I think soto, bucholtz, longoria and maybe votto will also have very good years.

None of the above if Colby Rasmus makes the starting lineup for the Cardinals out of spring training....and he should. Keep an eye on this ***.

I'm guessin Chamberlain is good if the Yankees got him.

As a Cards fan, I am very excited about Rasmus. I am afraid that they will keep him in AAA to start the season though. He is going to be something special. I like the thought of him, Rick Ankiel and Chris Duncan in the Cards outfield for years to come.

I don't think that the Cardinal brass would have 86ed Edmonds without feeling that Rasmus was ready. Skip Schumacher and Ryan Ludwick certainly aren't the answer (although I like Ludwick's power....he needs to hit for better average). I guess it depends how Rasmus does this spring. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I love Duncan's bat but to watch his adventures in left field makes me wish we had the DH rule in the NL (not really but....you know what I mean). He's fucking scary with the glove out there sometimes.

Yeah, he makes me cringe every time he runs back on a ball. Surprisingly though Duncan seems to do quite well running in on a ball. He makes a lot of very good catches when he comes in. I think right now they predict Ankiel in center, Duncan in left, and Ludwick in right. I hope Rasmus changes minds in Spring Training.
