MLB 2009 thread

That was a hard fought series that could have gone either way. I was hoping to see how Pedro would fare in the NLDS but maybe we'll get to see him in the NLCS.

Every MLB team is owned by either a billionaire or a group of millionaires so its the other owners' faults for not putting money into their team to win. The Twins long-time owner, for example, before passing away and leaving the team to his son was one of the richest owners in baseball but was notoriously known as one of the cheapest as well. The Yanks are playing within the rules of the agreement in place after the 1994 strike (which incidentally happened because the owners wanted to put a salary cap in place and the players union, the MLBPA, did not). People use the "they buy their games" argument to as an excuse for their own team not winning but when the Yankees win: "They bought another championship" and when the Yankees lose: "Well, that just shows you can't buy a championship". Which is it? You can't have it both ways.

Wow Jasonperez I didnt know you were Peter Gammons, Tim Kirkjen, and Buster Olney rolled into one........You just know everything about baseball and yea dumbass Rockies didnt blow it Phils are just a better team last time I checked the Phils had to hit the ball to score runs if the Rockies would of won game 4 and the series you would have been dick riding them saying oh yea the Rockies are great they played a great game you crybaby more like PerezHilton the almighty baseball knowledge GOD you just have an answer for everything dont you ::bowdown::bowdown:bowdown:

Thanks for giving credit where credit is due. Yanks in 6 or 7 and then off to the Dodgers. ;)

yea im a phils fan i watch every game and so was madson idiot but that didnt stop the phils from their MAJOR LEAGUE LEADING 44th comeback win of the yr

I didn't think Phils fans were so daft but ok, here goes...The series was hard fought and could have gone either way, the Rockies blew it because they didn't capitalize on the many mistakes the Phillies committed and the Phils did (on the ones the Rockies did) Should I go slower or is that okay for you?

YOURE A HATER BUDDY FACE IT THE PHILS WON PLAIN AND SIMPLE DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? they didnt capitalize because they werent good enough damn how dumb are you? every time a team loses you could say theydidnt capitalize on mistakes you know how many times Phils left bases loaded obviously not cause you failed to mention that. Thought you knew so much buddy

Yankees in 6 (due to home field advantage) and I say Dodgers in 6 or 7. I initially thought the Phillies since Cliff Lee is the man but Hamels has too much stuff on his mind and will get rocked and the rest of the rotation is iffy at best.
