I agree 100%. I have 2 dogs...rescuing dogs is a noble thing, but you shouldn't use it as a tool to obtain votes. If you happen to win, then announce that you are donating to charity. Pushing this on everyone to get votes is classless and tasteless. You already won, give someone else a chance.

It gives people the opportunity to cast their vote in an informed and conscientious manner, so they don't feel like they just spent time voting for something that doesn't mean anything. That is important to some people.
