Wow! That was quick! Didn't even get mine in under the wire, so I subject you guys to my opinions here! 
Should have been 1 month. Contestants should be selected on page hits. First two weeks can be spent winnowing down that list. Then 1 week to select finalists from a shorter list, and 1 week to narrow it down to 1 person. Three months is a long time to do a Web-based poll. I know you guys are trying to be inclusive of everyone, including people who didn't hear about it, but this is 2010! If they didn't hear about it during the first month, they aren't going to vote more than a couple of times before it's over!
And I have one real complaint! When is the celebratory party coming to the US's East Coast, hmmm?!?
