Miraculous Mosquito Legs

Mosquitoes walk on water better than water striders, cling to smooth ceilings and walls as tightly as geckos, and clutch the skin of their victims with annoying tenacity in search of blood. Now a collaboration of physicists from Dalian University in China and Simon Fraser University in Canada are looking beyond the insect's pesky reputation to discover how the tiny creatures manage to be so comfortable on such a diverse range of surfaces.

After reading it said..

So the next time a mosquito lands on your arm, take a moment to ponder its impressive and versatile legadaptations -- then squish it before it sucks your blood

I think I kill it first then ponder its legadaptations :D

i saw this awesome thing on either chameleon or a gecko and the analysis of the little hairs on their toes that make them stick, even on vertical glass. the hairs are to small that they actually bonded with the surface they are on on a molecular level. fucking awesome.

Spider-Man should have gotten bitten by a radioactive mosquito instead that way he would have the ability to walk across water.

Mosquitos suck.

Yeah, but only blood! I think they get a bad rap just because they are more plentiful than vampires...If vampires were all over and biting people, they wouldn't make movies romanticizing their culture...at least I don't think they would...
