You're making the mistake of confusing performance with economy.
200mph is purely a definition of speed (performance).
Manufacturers publish 'urban' mpg figures for cars..this is the true yardstick of economy.(or so they would have you believe)

I drove a Ferrari on a racetrack that was a former airport in colorado. I got it almost to 150mph. you are going so fast and shit is flying past you so quick, you really cannot enjoy it cuz you have to concentrate on what the fuck is in front of you. One mistake and....goodbye to you.

I once was on the ground doing about 150-200 mph - though I wasen't driving.
It was quite thrilling. And a little scary.

But then the plane took off.

It was cool, it was like a county fair , and they had exotic cars out there. You pay $100 bucks and you could drive it down the old runway. It was somewhere on the outskirts of Pueblo and this was back in the early 90's.

It didnt have the same sensation as being in a commercial jet. i guess because you are so low to the ground and close to the engine and actually drivng the thing.
