I was going to do a thread on him a few days ago but decided against it and chose to just put him in my signature along with Heath Ledger. I'm glad someone else decided to do it. I thought he would always beat the cancer because he's been beating it for 8 years. I love his artwork and before him I never really had a favorite artist. He was the reason that I first picked up Witchblade and his work on Fathom, Marvel Comics, and DC Comics are phenomenal. There have been so many times where I would just pick up a comic just because he drew the cover or the inside artwork. I have the Michael Turner Millennium Edition book by Wizard Magazine that collects his artwork up to that point (which was 2005). I hope that Wizard or maybe the comic community decides to do another one with the proceeds going to cancer research. I hope anyone reading this thread that has never heard of him decides to check out his work, I think you'll see why he's my favorite artist of all time. R.I.P. Michael Turner.

that fucking sucks.

I really had no idea, this was a complete surprise to me.

I met the guy before at comic cons. wow.

Didn't know who he was to be honest. Read up on him and it turns out he did quite a lot of work on some of my favourite titles. His massive contribution to the world of comics will be sorely missed.

Rest in Peace Michael Turner.

Absolutely loved his art. His work on witchblade, and Identity Crisis being my favourites. Rest in Peace, Mr. Turner.

As a comick book lover and a human, i am still pretty shocked about that event!

God needed a pretty artist and Michael Turner was picked up. :(

You will be always remembered, Mr. Turner!!!

WTF? When did this happen? while not a fanatic about his art, I did appreciate his stories and he seemed like a hellava cool dude. To continue drawing w/ the cancer showed his strength. Life is funny like that, alla the good ones get taken first...

Holy shit! I have every collected every copy of his fathom comic series since it first ran, I love this mans work, in fact its the only comic I collect. I had no idea he was battling cancer though. Im surprised and saddended to hear this!
