Michael Myers is the king. For one basic fact. In the second original Halloween movie, he was shot in both eyes, burned, kept going, and regrew them by the next movie!!! In addition, he's a skilled butcher, Olympic speedwalker, master of stealth, knows how to drive despite being in a saniturium for most of his life. The most important fact, the guy is completely dedicated to his task. Do don't mess with him.

Jason has been there and done most of that as well, and more.

Remember the movie Jason Goes To Hell. The FBI mortar bombed him to fuck and shot the shit out of him with magnums and machineguns, shotguns, and everything inbetween. So Jason is tougher than Michael will every be. He had to have the Feds on his ass and they had to be armed to the teeth. Not some old fart of a doctor that Michael had chasing him.

The backstory of both is realistic. But when it comes to the aftermath [both characters start killing] then the supernatural [horror] side kicks in. And reality for the most part is gone even though a tiny biy might remain. And this is where Jason excells. Michael lost his mortal side after the second movie. Jason lost his after the fourth movie [six follows on from four where in six he was resurrected].

I'm with you Ravenholm.Jason owns Mike everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

I have personally always thought that Micheal Myers was just flat out lame and only marginally scary. You know when you take his mask off there's nothing specially creepy looking about him(at least before the end of part 2,before the explosion in the hospital).I've never seen him run after anyone,so I guess he has teleportation abilities to catch his victims.

My list is as follows for the coolest and scariest MF'ers...

Jason Voorhees
Freddy Kruger
Pinhead
Leatherface

and the lamers...
Micheal Myers
Candyman
:2 cents:

None of those guys on that list are scary. Now Chucky in the first few Child's Play movies was a scary mother fucker. I remember when I was little and my brother got one of those My Buddy dolls after Child's Play came out. I couldn't sleep with that thing in the room for weeks.

I was going to put Chucky, but he got incredibly lame as the sequels went on,but yes he was good in the first one.

And they might not be scary but they are cool in my book.

Jason was the only one that really scared me as a kid because I grew up in a suburban area that had a lot of trees and too densely populated,so walking around at night as a kid was a bit of an adventure.

None of the horror icons scared me as a kid. Possibly because I was basically rooting for them rather than being frightened of their exploits. Jason Voorhees .. to me .. just has a very cool visual look about him. Which has something to do why I prefer him over Michael Myers. Myers, with the faceless Shatner mask, looks a bit creepy .. and it works. However when I watched these films growing up, I just never found Nick Castle, Dick Warlock, George Wilbur, and whoever played Michael in Part 5 to be anywhere nearly as intimidating as Jason's played by Richard Brooker, Ted White (who was an absolute beast), CJ Graham, and Kane Hodder.

Jason for me.
Who been to outer space?
Who fought an icon like Freddy?
Who has his own videogame from the classic NES days?
Fuck that loser/poser Michael.

No, no, no. Mike wins, Jason can't control himself. He can't stop killing. Mike stands there and freaks you out first. Besides. Halloween 1978, Friday the 13th, 1980. Jason is a knock off. Risen from the dead by unnatural methods. Mike is a the original killer.

Jasons scarier but at least Michael is more realistic, Jason dies in everyone yet hes back in the next, when Michael is pressumed dead but never actually seen to be dead.

No,no,no,no,you are proving to me you have never seen Halloween.
in Halloween H20 Jamie Lee Curtis wacked Michael's head off when he was trapped between the trees and the vehicle.
So he DIED right there.
How the hell did he come back?
He came back and KILLED Jamie Lee Curtis in the following movie.
The original star of the movie he killed.
That movie made me lose interest after that.:thefinger

Well if you want to go that route,Mike is a ripoff of Leatherface.

You didn't watch the next movie. She did not kill Michael. Michael had switched places with another man when she left him for dead on those tables in H20. She killed an innocent man that then she ended up in a mental hospital. Michael goes to the mental hospital and then kills her. (Yes I love these movies chessy or not)

And what are you talking about? Jason can control himself. Killing is the only thing he wants to do after his mother's and his own death. What do want to see other than Jason killing? Jason sitting down at a dinner having the soup of the day? Oh how about going fishing in crystal lake?

In Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers you find out a cult named Curse of Thorn has been controlling Michael and his obsession with killing his entire family. Michael Myers can't control himself.

Jason drowned and died in crystal lake as a child and came back to life after his mothers death. Michael Myers isn't risen from the dead. He doesn't really die in Halloween I. He always gets hurts and disappears. He's pure evil.

Well if you want to go that route,Mike is a ripoff of Leatherface.

I've always felt Michael Myers was a rip of of Leatherface.

That's just it. He got his head cut off. He IS dead now.

And it is only the lazy arsed writers willing to milk that dead storyline that brought him back with little to no explanation as to how he came back. He was just there and they expected the viewer to go with it. They were thinking that the viewer would accept a decapitated killer suddenly grew a new head and started killing again. Aye right. Myers is dead after he lost his head.

At least they were a little more original with Jason's comeback when he got killed by the FBI. His storyline went a little more supernatural than Myers but it still gave explanation as to how he came back. More original than Michael's feeble comeback. Jason didn't just POP UP as if nothing had happened to him before hand. Heads don't grow on trees you know, so where the fuck did Myers get his new one from. And who stuck it on for him? the ghost of Peter Cushing?.

The guy who got his lopped off was someone Myers stuck the mask on. Lame, but it sort of explains it... Resurrection blows, though....
