Michael Bay Taking ‘Mutant’ Out of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Reboot

Instead of destroying this franchice (which I wholeheartedly believe they will do), why can't they come up with something original and fresh along the same lines??? I mean, a bunch of aliens come to earth and are trapped here, but are good guys and love earths cultures, but have to stay hidden and are trained to fight hand-to-hand and find some bad guys to go beat up?

Make it epic, make it fun, make it an enjoyable action comedy. Heck, I'd go see that! But to take away the core of what the franchise is, that is just stupid.

I think the open letter from Robbie Rist, who did the voice of Michelangelo in the original films, to Michael Bay hammered in a good point:

You probably don't know me, but I did some voice work on the first set of the movies that you are starting to talk about sodomizing.

what the fuck you lookin at?
He's taking one small aspect of the story and tweaking it, who fucking cares? :dunno: So they didn't crawl through the radioactive pink ooze. They come from space now? A little more realistic anyway, if you ask me. But whatever. So what's it gonna be called Teenage ninja turtles? Besides it's not like your gonna watch the movie and think "they never got in the ooze" the whole fuckin movie. It's irrelevant if you ask me.

They've announced the new title of the film set to be released Christmas Day 2013:

"NINJA TURTLES"

Quote from Michael Bay:
Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE'S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.

I know it's not easy to become a filmmaker but if I had a profession like Michael Bay I definitely would not want it to go to waste. What was the last good film he made, The Rock?
