....the OLD Metallica ( o_O).

It's so strange... a Great RockBand is getting a Vomitive RockBand.

...what a vision!!! ¬¬'

Maybe they're bored and is possible that in the future they'll be playing at churches or your next BusSTOP.

Never been a fan of Metallica; so i'll go with Maiden.

Iron Maiden.

Of the two, they are the only band who DIDN'T release that flaming piece of fucking horseshit St. Anger.

Iron Maiden for me , The last great Metallica album I heard was And Justice for all so it's been a while since I liked an album by them .

Hmmm, it's tough. I went for Metallica though, I just prefer their music. I know it's been a while since they released something really good, but their old stuff has stood the test of time better, in my opinion, than Maiden.

I've seen both live, and Metallica was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Maiden were cheesy and slightly embarrasing...

Also I've heard a couple of their new songs, and they are a huge improvement from St Anger. I think they have learnt from their mistakes and are trying a lot harder now.

Here is one of their new songs played at Donnington 2006, I was standing just in front of the guy filming!

I would go with Iron Maiden. Matellica went downhill after they started selling out and after they got irrationally upset about illegal file sharing.

I have been listening to Iron Maiden sinse 1990 [I was 12 back then]. And at that time I had never even heard of Metallica, it wasn't a big loss either to be honest. When I did discover Metallica a few years afterwards it wasn't anything spectacular [Justice and also The Black Album and Puppets where the albums that introduced me to them]. MOP is the only real standout album Metallica have IMO. The rest are nothing short of standard 80's thrash albums. Not that that is a bad thing mind, it isn't, but Puppets is a bit like Slayer's Reign In Blood album. It was a master piece of the thrash scene [from back then and even now]. Maiden were not as heavy as Metallica but they were IMO better musicians and song writers. They had catchy riffs and solos that are memorable for long after hearing them. Metallica have about four classic albums [if you go by the masses and what they say]. Iron Maiden have about seven classic albums [going by what the same masses say].

There's the winner right there: Iron Maiden 7 - Metallica 4.

Had they not turned into Metalligrunge, maybe Metallica would have given Maiden a run, but it's not the case. Maiden has had a longer run, more classic albums, and i think, puts on a much better live show.

Well Metallica was the best in my book, but after the black album, which I myself liked, it was all down hill. The load albums were junk, garage inc was junk accept for Turn The Page, and I wont even mention St. Anger. But I have to say I liked Metallica better for the most part. Never was a big Maiden fan.

in my opinion its pointles to make vs with iron maiden and metallica . two sides, two diffrent feeling, two diffrent ways of good music., both are great bands for present day music culture.
( but ofcourse everybody likes the old times of metallica right :) )

Metallica all the way even though the whole Napster ordeal made me sick to my stomach. I also never liked Maiden personally.
