That is how you end up with what you have now. No one votes except the people opposed to you and they win. I don't kow about you Steve but usually the losers then bitch about the results.
I'm not going to be a loser though. I'm not voting.

One of the reasons we end up where we are is because many people are forced into a situation of voting for the 'least bad' or 'best of a bad bunch' and I am not a believer in doing that. I vote for people who speak to me personally and what I want to see for my family and the world at large. Jeremy Corbyn's Labour party represented that for me but he's gone and the party is now a centre-right bunch of 'win at all costs' pricks. This country is beyond saving anyway, and years of Starmer's so-called neoliberalism will strengthen the far right as has happened in France and other countries. I now refuse to engage with a patently unrepresentative system.

Every progressive battle started out small, abolition, women suffrage, the right to collective bargaining for workers. The United States Green party will hold its nomination convention this coming August. I send them $10.00 every month. Whoever they nominate will receive my vote. Not much chance of a win, yet, I have a hope those weary of the status quo join us.

If anyone is watching, the torys got their arses handed to them and the UK now has a new PM.

Yeah, we have a new PM who can't define what a woman is (pretty big issue right now in the UK), while large parts of his cabinet are complete clowns.
Sadly a different party, but the same old stories of incompetence and corruption.

Don't know if this is the right place to post, but the UK is very depressing to be in right now.

3 major incidents in the space of like 2 weeks.

Manchester Airport, The Harehill riots which is an area of Leeds where i'm based and now the Stockport stabbings.

Far right hate against POC has gone up during this period.

I feel for you. Truly.

The Stockport stabbing reaction riots in particular are utter fucking bullshit.
