You could also see it as her taking charge of her life and "using" the men who are willing to pay. At the end of the day, she gets to choose her "customers".

You are right PhadenCycle, that is a definite possibility but I think that in most cases the girl "has to do it", rather that "wants to do it" for different reasons.
