Age of consent in the state I live in is 16.
What does purchasing alcohol or tobacco have to do with it.

age of consent may be age X where you live but if its another age in another state and you are in that state then you are bound by that state's law. not everyone who posts on this board is from your state so you can't hold their statements or facts to this matter based on your state's law, it just won't work.

age of consent in my state is 18. that also happens to be where the story takes place so yes, the girl in the story is a minor. so the father is correct in saying the 23 year old man sent nude pics to a minor.

"Minors are 16. Shes 17." <<<<< this is all you said in the post.

the tobacco alcohol reference was another example of where the term minor has different values and definitions depending on which state and which act is being exercised. that's just the lawyer in me, i am immediately prone to argue against absolute statements.

There was no evidence so apparently he lied.

my sole point is that your definition of a minor is not necessarily true. if i didnt know better i'd say you just want to argue now. can you just admit that your statement is not accurate or do you want to continue to deflect? if deflect then consider me done with the conversation cos its so not worth it. not trying to argue with you, man. just trying to let you know that variations of the term minor are real.

that's really the only point that i was trying to make in this entire thread. whether he lied about the pic being sent is neither here nor there and to be honest i don't really give a fuck. fuck him, fuck his daughter and fuck the guy that got tazed i don't give a shit about any of 'em. all i was trying to say was that your statement on minors was not true as it pertains to this story. that's all.

The person that sent the pictures was an asshole, but the girls father went WAAAAAYYYYYY over the line. If the girl was 9 years old or some young age like that I could see him getting really pissed. (Although he still should just take the evidence to the authorities in that case.) Given that his daughter was 17 years old and the age of the person that sent the pictures wasn't that much older the crime wasn't really that severe IMO. The person should be punished, but it really only deserves a minor punishment.

The girl's father just lost control and went way overboard and did something highly disproportional for the event that occurred and he should rightfully pay for it.
