Awesome post and story. Dogs are always so loyal.

We had a German Shepard growing up and he played with all of my friends in the neighborhood. One afternoon my best friend (lived next door) and I was just return from school - I was in my yard when I heard him scream, so did Radar (German Shepard). He had walked into a burglar at his house, Radar went over my 4ft fence to my friend on his porch and attacked the burglar kicking my friend. While radar saved the day the burglar sued my parents and had the courts order to put my dog down. Luckily my friend(that was saved) father was on the local PD, and my dog some how ran away to my aunts and uncles house in Maine - Don't know how that happened!

Anyway the point is Dogs are NOT stupid they are awesome loving, caring, and loyal creatures that will protect the ones they love and trust. While I think cats are cute, they will never be better than a dog! IMO

Damn I thought in the US burglars lost all their rights once they went into someone else's home/property, that sounds worse than the UK and we're pretty crazy on home invasion laws here

yeah well in Massachusetts the laws are so screwed up it aint funny. Like a couple years ago when the Fenway Park fans that got listed as sex offenders after being convicted of urinating in public - its stupid.

But since it was not the houses pet and the burglar was on the front porch during the assault. My dog had not right to assist according to the courts back then, and was listed as a dangerous animal.

Why can't the courts use common sense at their discretion, if we followed everything technically we'd all break some law.
