I think they are alright, a lot of their stuff I dig. I personally think that this age of music we are in is an all time low for rock and everything else. I never listen to the radio and every time I am in someone else car I just hear nothing but crap everywhere.

Okay... Ignoramous... The "Pale" white kid doesn't rap.

The tan white kid does... LOL

Learn your facts before you bash something. NOT All the facts... but if your gonna say... "I don't like them because of this this this and this." When this this this and this doesn't even happen...

Thats stupid.

I think they're all right. They're definitely overplayed.

its ok in Oz coz Linkin Park are not overplayed OR underplayed, so that is why i think that is good, they are not a bad band but they are sounding too generic (songs are getting similar to their previous ones) They need to break it up a bit and vary slightly.

But over here it is all Rap  and R&B  and damn DELTA GOODREM! :crash: :fight: those last 3 things are totally OVERPLAYED TO THE POINT MY STEREO HAS STARTED TO MELT!!!

a couple of songs are ok but in general most of their music are more of a noise than music.

Linkin Park are just another well-marketed 'fashionable' band. Pop-rock has never been my thing. :2 cents:

i don't think they're "pop-rock".

IMO, it's a great band.

they're one of the best in the entire 'nu metal' wave.

and they're evolving: in their latest album, "Minutes to Midnight", they step away a little from the metal and made some more different music. Awesome as well.

i love their energy in live shows.

what the fuck you lookin at?
Their first album was ok at best. And they've gone steadily downhill since.

Linkin Park = auditory rape. They were never good, aren't good now, and will never be good.

I really, really liked their mashup album with Jay-Z. They should do more stuff in that style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFbNBG0yUBA&feature=related Also, anyone who's seen them live on the festival scene will know they have the ability to turn an apathetic crowd into fans.

I wasn't a huge fan of their latest album though -- seemed a little unimaginative and conventional.

Rock music's dying because people think they need to sound like every other band from the 1980s and earlier all over again. I'm glad that bands like Linkin Park were willing to do something different.

Wow, archive ! :nanner:

If it weren't for the magic of electronics, they'd be nobodies.

Could they do an unplugged ? I don't think so.

I'm on the fence I guess. Whatever gets 'em a paycheck :dunno:

I know sheer / raw talent when I hear it . . nothing further your honor

Sure, why not? Linkin Park songs performed in an unplugged style are very, very popular covers. They're relatively easy to translate. I don't know if the band themselves have ever performed them that way though.

But why would being able to do an unplugged of their music make them any better at what they do? I'm pretty sure a direct translation of The Prodigy or Nine Inch Nails to acoustic instruments would sound downright crappy if attempted. It doesn't make these acts any less talented or innovative -- it's simply a different genre of music.

I say 'crap'. The biggest problems for me are the whining style and the absolutely unflinching repetitiveness of their material. "Quiet start, rock kicks in, back to quiet with whiny lyrics, lame rap kicks in, loud chorus, repeat"

But then, I don't think much music after 2000 is very memorable or good. We're still singing, listening to, and talking about songs from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Think we'll be talking about "Panic at the Disco" and "Fallout Boy" in 20 years?

Yeah, me neither.

Audio herpes.

It's usually fine to just ignore it, but every now and then you get an outbreak. A highly infectious A.T.D amongst younger generations.

I used to like them a little bit. Now the only two songs of theirs that I like are "Crawling" and "Shadow of the Day".
