That's the tough thing about being older and living on your own, it can be hard to get yourself to cook for yourself. I know there are plenty of times where I have wanted to say "screw it" and order a pizza, but I try to make meals at home as often as I can (not only because they're healthier but because it helps save money too). I find it helps to make a lot of things at once and fill your fridge and freezer with them, so then all you have to do is open either door, look, and select as opposed to gathering ingredients and crafting something when you don't feel up to it.
Yes, I am. I've never thought of it as nifty, but thank you very much.
I don't have much room to store food. I share a fridge with 2 other people (boyfriend and roommate), and the roommate has a tendency to cook something and instead of putting it in a container, he puts the entire pan in the fridge. And my boyfriend buys food in bulk, so there's all this food of things I'm not interested in eating. He has a whole pork (or is it turkey? can't remember), which I don't like, and it's been sitting in the freezer for like 2 months. I'm not eating it, so unless he cooks it and eats the entire thing himself, it's gonna be there for a while.
So I go grocery shopping probably at least twice a week for just a few things that'll hold me over for a couple days. Wish I could do grocery shopping like a normal person and only go like once or twice a month to stock up on things.
