As for my parents every dime of their Social Security goes to pay their taxes.

The IRS has hit me today with a $2,300 bill I owe on top of everything else.

Re 60 pct., 60 pct of $200K for example is $120K....Only a moron would contemplate living on welfare as opposed to living off of $80K.

If you're not in the top 2 pct. you are paying a Fed marginal rate less than 36 pct., Obama has not raised your taxes nor has he suggested he would..in fact, you have gotten a tax break. So, why are you blaming Obama for the other nearly 30 pct of taxation you are paying when he has cut your Fed rate??? Oh I forgot, you are charging this to Obama based on your anticipation of 'the other' shoe drop.

I have no idea why some people are or stay on welfare. What I do know is that any middle class tax bracket in the US offers a more worthwhile lifestyle than welfare.

Uh..no one's claiming tax cuts are bad...nor generally desirable. What most responsible people are suggesting when it comes to taxes on the top 2 pct., only a moron would on the one hand support foreign wars to the tune of a trillion or so dollars (for example) then become dumbfounded at the suggestion that it be paid for??

GWB attempted to cut taxes and conduct a war at the same time. If it was theorized revenues would increase as a result of the tax cuts, the war(s) would pay for themselves, the economy would boom, etc., etc., etc.....and cut the deficit or debt....those theories were PROVEN to be disastrously in error.

So people are suggesting the common sense approach now. If you are going to spend...then cut elsewhere. If the cuts still can't bridge the gap...then taxes need to go up somewhere. Most people with common sense AND many IN the top 2 pct. say at minimum let the tax cuts on the top 2 pct. expire (which apparently doesn't include you).

Does that make too much sense to you?

If you want a recovery then introduce tax cuts. You cannot blame Bush any longer for this mess because it's not his fault nor is it Obamas. The world economy is **** poor and has been since '09.

The Recession really started in 07' and we seem to have 1-2 every decade, if you add in the current Euro Crisis, Japan's lost decade, Korea's issues in the Late 90's, The South East Asia one and all the defaults in South America.

This is a ongoing issue world wide for decades.
