This has become more of a circus or a freakshow the last few years.
It´s ridiculous.
I prefered when the national contest was only ten songs with a real orchestra.
Plus I think everybody should sing in their native language.

Sir Terry Wogan (BBC commentator for the contest) said 43-year-old Andy Abraham, formerly on TV talent show the X Factor, deserved more votes from other countries than he received (he came joint last with 14 votes).

Referring to certain other songs in the competition, he added: "You have to say that this is no longer a music contest."

And he said: "I have to decide whether I want to do this again. Western European participants have to decide whether they want to to take part from here on in, because their prospects are poor."

He's right - the UK's entry wasn't a classic, but it was better than last year's (remember Scooch? I wish I could forget 'em) and 2006 (Daz Sampson's rap - yuck!) and deserved a better fate. We should pull out because the voting is now beyond a joke...or do what Ireland & Spain did (take the pisss).

Robert Mugabe should contact these folks when he's rigging the next poll in Zimbabwe...

The problem with this "song-contest" is not only the political dimension - like neighbours voting for neighbours, its much more complicated. For instance Estonia Latvia Lithuania all gave 12 points to Russia. And they tend to give highest points to their historical and present political enemy, every year. Do you think estonians latvains lithuanians all vote for russia every year - no! Its the huge russian diaspora, the immigrants living in baltics, that vote for russia, no matter what song or how ridiculous their act is. (russias act is ridiculous every time - they push it always over the edge, way beyond of good taste, they are desperate to win the "contest", although this year the song was somehow alright, i would say, thnx to mr Timbaland).
Anyway - russian diaspora has spread over europe (and so has Turkish, Amrenian, Polish etc) - and you can be shure they vote for their homeland every year. Its a closed circle. It has got nothing to do with music. It has turned into a fucking political circus. Western europeans would just better make a political decision and quit partitipating. And they should rename it Yugovision.
