Years and years of covering a mediocre team will do that to you.

One of the greatest of all time. You will be missed, Ernie. Rest in peace....say hello to Harry Caray and Jack Buck for me.

I'm sad this doesn't have any responses yet. I hate the Tiggers, but R.I.P Ernie.

My Penis Is Dancing!
Back in the days before 24 hour baseball networks, I relied on the radio for my baseball thirsts. Of course, most of the time, I listened to Marty Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall calling the Reds - but on nights they were not playing, I would tune in either the Tigers with Harwell or the Phillies with Kallas. Listening to Ernie was a joy, and I can still hear his voice calling me from my teenage years.

One of the most instantly recognizable voices in the game. He faced the end with dignity and courage.
