:rofl: what? What the fuck has VALve done except make a FPS popular by making it more of a tech demo than an interesting all around game????? I'm not talking about L4D here either......
and still one of the most used game engines every of it times. so yeah what the hell has valve done ? well a lot.. not wanting to start a verbal fight. but valve are in my opion is one of the best game creators out there. half-life is still played and talk about nowadays and no i not on about any of the version on plague-station. its pc all the way !! but each to there own and such !!
also anyone buying and playing left for dead two please put an honest review i missed out on the first one and am tempted not to miss this one but at the mo funds and not what they use to be. so if someone can say if it worth it or not ? would help a little !! then again i think i will do what i normaly do and rent it out first !!
If I were you, I'd rent it first since you never played the first one. All reviews I've read say that if you didn't like the first one, there's no chance you'll like this one. but if you did (like the first one) then you'll definitely love this one too. I loved the first one and couldn't get enough of Versus Mode. I still haven't been able to pick this up though. I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Half-life! Is it a bench mark in games? Yes it is I wont deny that. Did they bring new stuff to the table with that game? Yes I wont deny that either.....however its regarded as a game that stands the test of time and thats just false. All its triumphs are in the tech dept,so fucking what?
Half-life came out in a time when there was a leap in tech with PC graphic cards. VALve took advantage of this and was the first to the table with nice visuals and great physics. But thats all it was though. I mean look at the story its ludicrous and the geek protagonist doesnt say a fucking word.How can you have a great story/narrative for your "great all around game" when the main dude dont open his mouth???? Its so lame......it was nothing but eye candy, at the time that is.
These games have all the pieces that make a game stand the test of time Grand thefts,God of wars,Metal Gears,Call of dookies,final fantasys...... Half life was nothing but a glorified tech demo.
As far as VALve goes,they straight up said that the Ps3 was too difficult to dev for and said they dont even have the resources so they're making new ip's (enter L4D) for the 360. Ok,well you make L4D with a dated as fuck Halflife engine and to make matters worse you do the same with L4D2?????
Maybe its not the Ps3 being a bitch or 360 being easy,its VALve being a not that great dev after all.

Half Life 1 and 2 are two of the best shooters ever, and fucking interesting too.
Portal is the most addictive "tech demo" to come out in recent years.
TF2 and Counter Strike are two of the most popular online games, even with an old engine.

Since the PS2, developers have always said Sony's systems are hard to develop for so this is nothing new, the only difference though is that most of those developers stop bitching and learn the ins and outs of a system. I like Valve and think they're talented but I **** it when developers say that kind of stuff when many other less talented developers are on the system. Also, when they say they don't have the resources and they got EA as a distributor, something doesn't sound right. You'd think EA, of all publishers, would want the game on as many systems as possible

Im gonna put this as nicely as posible, but, What is your fucking problem?
I know, EA is a huge money hungry company,another microsoft but of the publishers type......why the hell cant VALve learn the ins and outs of the system? Dont get me wrong,L4D has alot of fun factor even though it looks like pure **** but I'm sure it would sell well on ps3. The dude that narrates those videos that Zell posted on the console war debate said that it isnt that hard to dev the games on 360 and port it to ps3.....:dunno:VALve
