I was hangin' in SoCal in the early '70s, I caught Spirit at a Pacific Stereo opening, and later Coke Escovedo's "new" band at the same parking lot...music was everywhere.
I ended up in county lockup for a few days once, and Joe Walsh's weekly GF kept my puppy dog for me...kinda cool.
It seemed every time I had to go somewhere, Zepplin came to play when I was gone.
Never caught them live...Jimi once, the Who , various groups here and there...but I didn't like the big commercial venues then, so I passed on a lot of bands.
Loved the smoke though...Texas was just as good; ZZ Top before they were the Top, etc, lots of music in Austin in the '70s.
I was out of the US for around 3 years, party was "over" when I returned. After Altamont time frame...
I still love my music... Zepplin, Jimi, Doors, Canned Heat, Quicksilver, Beatles, Eagles, Jackson Brown, Big Brother and their singer; on and on...
I sure love Southern Rock, double lead and such...it's all good.
Anyone have NRPS? I have 2...NRPS and Panama Red. Classic...

Too hard to select just one, I think they've all been a favorite one time or another.
Currently digging In through the Out Door.

# 4 but they are all good:hatsoff:

So I accidentally find this thread while listening to... Zeppelin. (Searching for "Rosie Jones" I find John Paul Jones.)

While I LOVE Physical Graffiti -- listening to it, I think it could only be released as a double-album -- In Through the Out Door is my pick. It teases the future direction of the band by building on what they put on vinyl before it.

A shitty day and In the Evening can be my reset button.

Led Zeppelin II. I have had this conversation many times with friends... "if you were stuck on an island and could only have one zeppelin album which one would it be?"

I was always tempted to say PG for amount of content. But, the fact that everything on II seriously killed and that a drum solo gets radio play to this day is why I love it.

Best band ever:banger:

Plus if there was a deal made with the devil, I'd say John Paul Jones was THE one to do it... dude is still on the scene today with Them Crooked Vultures.

''Presence'' turns out to be one of my faves and yes, it is an album that you need to acquire a taste for.

The following is probably the single best Led Zep video I have ever seen . . very impressive video quality! :hatsoff:

RIPS Bonzo! :bowdown::hatsoff:
