So then, how many UK members here heard it?

I sure did. I was outside my house some time after 6pm talking to a neighbour when we suddenly heard the explosion/sonic boom/very loud bang. (Whatever the government wants to call it.)
I wouldn't have called it loud on the ears, but by God was it scarey. It was like thunder, it just continued to deliver large loud rumbles across the sky without seeming to end. My initial thoughts were that a nuclear powerstation up the coast had suddenly exploded.
A sonic boom? From a single Royal Air Force Eurofighter? No way! No way man!
I'll be very interested to see what the locals are saying tomorrow when I go to buy the morning paper.
Expect more from me later on!
