Kurt Angle disses UFC President Dana White.

Kurt Angle has spoke candidly during a recent conference call for TNA. Angle wanted to clear the air on several issues from his WWE departure and TNA arrival and why he is not in The UFC.

On Aug. 25, Angle was release from his WWE contract due to personal reasons. The following month, Angle's business manager Dave Hawk said: "Kurt Angle has retired from professional wrestling [and] now plans to fight in the MMA in 2007.''

I haven't watched UFC in awhile. Who could Angle fight?

Since he is a world class wrestler with an olympic medal he could be the best wrestler to fight in the UFC.

Premium Link Upgrade How would you feel about seeing Severn in TNA?

Premium Link Upgrade Is he retired?

greco-roman wrestling style is different from MMA.
angle would get his face destroyed in UFC.
UFC isn't fake

whalers90, what you're failing to realize is that Angle wouldn't be trying to Angle Slam anyone in the UFC. Wrestling is one of the major fundamentals of MMA, has always been, and a lot of less skilled wrestlers are doing amazing in UFC. Angle is one of the best wrestlers of his time, add in some training to round off his skill-set and he would undoubtedly me able to compete in the UFC.

yes, shamrock is no more. and i think its a big mistake to have a fucking wwf or whatever its called now wrestler in the ufc. wrestling is fake stupid **** and hes gonna get his ass kicked. so at least that should be fun. i wonder if he'll still want to be talking all that fake trash talking before the fights like in wwf, or maybe request fake tables and ***** packets. a good soft aluminum chair would be nice too.

People tend to forget that Kurt Angle is a GOLD MEDALIST in REAL wrestling. He would out-wrestle anybody in the UFC, no contest. As far as throwing and taking punches though? Who knows? :dunno:

The problem with traditional wrestling is that there are no ****** in it. As such in wrestling you can give someone your back and not worry about being ******, in the UFC thats not something you want to do. He also doesn't have to watch out for armbars and other submissions. Its a mma fight not a wrestling contest. If he learned some other skills though he might be pretty good though.

The skill-set from traditional wrestling is a HUGE part of current fighting trends in MMA right now. Going from wrestling to MMA isn't unheard and as a matter of fact, there has been a large number of success stories with that transition.

Thank you, that's what I'm saying: right now REAL wrestling (in which Kurt Angle is probably one of the world's best)is considered the best discipline for MMA.

Im sick of hearing him saying he,ll do this and he,s gonna do that.

Kurts all mouth and no action and anyway he,d get **** kicked outta him.

So far you're right about the 'all mouth, no action' part and he may get the **** kicked out of him...or he may kick some serious ass. I quit predicting MMA fights after I made the prediction that Crocop was going to dominate the UFC heavyweight divinsion:(.

didn't Angle have neck problems in the past. What ever the injury was, if he's beatin and bruised from his past fighting he won't hold up against UFC style fighting, a real slam to the back of the head will end him.

he can win if he gets a power position early, but that would be his only hope

That's true but it's probably going to be hard as hell for anybody to slam him, I mean he is an Olympic gold medal winning wrestler (The only American to win a gold medal in his weight division)

And as for not having any grappling defense... who would be able to take him to the ground?

I hope he doesn't get his neck hurt. He has had problems with it for a long time. If he goes in he is going to be facing people that are actually trying to do him harm. He got hurt enough with the fake stuff. I also agree that Olympic wrestling is a lot different than grappling in a fight. Even if it has something to do with MMA and will help him out now Angle was one of the best wrestlers...........in 1994. That's more than 13 years ago.

is he going to step right into the MMA "ring" or is he going to train for weeks or months? i think he may have some luck with the amateur wrestling.
somebody mounts his back and places a rear naked *****.....he's not goping to be able to drop to one knee and then " hulk up" and power out of it.
or if he gets put into an armbar or kamura he can't S l O w L y pull himself to the cage and have the ref break the hold.
i think he would get his face smashed. not saying he couldn't hold his own possibly but i think as it was said a post or 2 up that he is all talk and no action. especially when it comes to this

Wrestling is one of the major skillsets but its not the only one. As far taking him to the ground they wouldn't have too. BJJ is just as effective when you're on the bottom, if not more effective. Also, a couple months or so ago Bisping beat the deaf wrestler from season 5 i think and he was a internationally top ranked wrestler. Alot of guys in the UFC have very good matwork. Also, the wrestling is alot easier when someone isn't punching you in the face.

bisping won the match but if you saw it or go and find out more info about it he was beat but the Judges (ppv was in England) ripped off matt hammill.
i have watched every ppv for the past 2 1/2 years and hammill didn't wrestle with him or go to the mat. he stood and exchanged fists with him and he beat up bisping really bad.
here is a quote from mma junkie.com:
Back in August, just weeks before what would become a hugely controversial split-decision victory over Matt Hamill, Bisping told MMAjunkie.com that he did enjoy the challenge of fighting much-bigger opponents, but he also admitted that it becomes a daunting task as he continues to face the sport’s elite fighters.

I have seen the bisping fight and later in the fight hammill went for a takedown numerous times to no avail. If you just watched the last ultimate fighter Speers (a wresler) was beat by danzig a much smaller bjj guy. Danzig even walks around at 168 where as Speers had to drop over 10 pounds. All i'm saying is that just because Angle is a great wrestler doesn't make him a good mma fighter. You have to be more than one sided, which Angle is, to win in the UFC.
