Kubrick or Scorsese?

Kubrick, but let's give them both a big standing ovation for the extraordinary contribution to film BOTH have made.
Both have made great movies but Kubrick has Sgt Hartman in Full Metal Jacket so I pick him.
Scorsese has Bill The Butcher,one of the best villains in cinema history.

Misunderstood and underrated. I did think he made a mistake casting Tom Cruise, personally, but I think it is a challenging and brilliantly paced film.

They have completely different styles, but I'd have to lean (slightly) toward Kubrick as well. Even though Casino and Goodfellas were basically the same film, I still enjoyed both. Which I guess speaks to Scorsese's talent. But I saw A Clockwork Orange when I was in school and it probably scarred me for life... and I'm glad that it did.
Hell, Kubrick could have made them both cry for all I know, but I do remember reading that Kubrick was especially on Shelly Duval's case during much of the time shooting "The Shining". Some theorize it was due to a personal dislike of Duval, while another theory has it that Kubrick simply did that in order to get Shelly in a whirlwind of emotions by the time he yelled, "Action!".
Anyways, voting Kubrick on this one.
This is really a tough decision to make :dunno:
Scorsese, def. I like & respect Kubrick, but i simply enjoy more of Scorsese's films.
