If you had a clue how an economy is supposed to work (and we all know that no republican does) you would know that it is driven by the working class, not the upper class. If you give breaks to the working class they spend more money (clue: spending more money GROWS the economy - growing economy = GOOD). If you give breaks to the richest part of the population and nothing to the middle and lower class they do nothing with it that creates jobs, because why expand your business when demand isn't changing?
If we raise minimum wage, everybody has more money to spend, people who have full time jobs don't need to supplement with food stamps just to hit the poverty level, demand for goods and services increases, and the rich people that republicans are looking out for have a reason to expand their operations, hire more people, which leads to more people with more money and that's how a fucking economy works.
Speaking of someone that is clueless about economics. Government spending does not grow the economy. The private sector grows the economy and when asshats like you get the fuck out of the way and let entrepreneurs do what they do best (take risks, and pursue rugged individualism) capitalism works. Not top down government hand outs and wealth redistribution like you espouse. *yawn*
The middle class get plenty of breaks especially tax breaks, from the bevy of credits for children, mortgages and investments.
Raising the minimum wage doesn't accomplish anything but resulting in businesses to offset those increases through higher prices which in turn decreases the demand or in a worse case scenario cause work forces to be cut. Business never pays for increases, we do, oh master of economics.
