When we die...

NO I'm not getting religious and I DON'T want to start a religious debate! I'm just curious your opinions on what happens to us after we die. If we have a soul, after-life type shit...or do we just simply cease to exsist? that sort of thing!

Re: When we die...

Sadly only those that can answer that question aren't able to.....or are they?
Personally, I plan on coming back as a sexually active ghost - heh heh heh

At AFA's Request - I am posing this question because I also believe it to be a good question for a poll.

What happens when we die???

Credit also to legzman for coming up with the idea...

I think that there is an afterlife....
where our souls go to rest...
but I also think reincarnation exists as well...

I don't believe in the afterlife. When you're dead you're dead, that's it (bonus - can you find what TV show I'm referring to?).

Yes I think there is a afterlife and I think a creator God. I also believe we will be judged for our lives good or bad. I think some will end up in a good place, Heaven if you will and some will be punished for there evil lives. Hitler and Pol Pot are damned to torment

Nah, you're dead.

Of course it doesn't really matter. If there isn't then you won't notice. And if there is, then there you go! :D

This is at AFA's request?

Usually AFA requests brunettes and funny pics. Oh well, He who works in mysterious ways...

I think there is an afterlife where you will be judged on what you are doing now, and how you are at this moment. So if any spirits in the higher realms want to experience some earthly delights here is where they'll go:). I fear that my life review is full of freeones. haha
But what you are in the afterlife is a larger experience, so that no-one will only be condemned to hell or heaven for eternity. hopefuly it's much broader

Sometimes I think it'd be nice to believe there's an afterlife, it must be a comforting thought. However I don't think I could ever make that stretch in belief.

On a day to day basis, I don't think about it at all, and I can't even speculate now as I write this.

But, I can say, that at times of great loss (the death of a friend, parent, companion), that I have comforted and consoled myself with the absolute belief that they are in a better place and that I will see them again.

Yes, there has to be a continuation of the energy we call the "soul" after physical death. Not sure what it is and neither is anyone else (that's why we have so many religions). In fact, I'll argue that fear of death and what comes after is the basis for all religions. I promise all of you that, if I am able to, I will come back and start a thread on what the truth is after I die. Until then, I choose to believe that there is indeed some sort of existence after physical death takes place.

I'm not sure. I tend to believe that there is an afterlife, maybe also reincarnation.

But where do all the souls come from? Where have they been before there was life? What about the increase in human population: if there is reincarnation, where do the souls for the additional humans come from? Are souls divisible? Or do those souls come from other creatures, maybe those that died out because of us humans? :dunno:

Questions over questions...

i believe that after we die, we go to a different planet and just start the whole sex and destruction cycle.

Yes definitely, now i don't believe in what religions say about the afterlife but i believe in science and in science energy cannot be destroyed.
We are essentially made up of energy and when we enter metamorphosis ie death, then what happens after that who knows but science says for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.:angels:  :2 cents:

apologies for double post but I absolutely can relate to BNF's experiance with death. I too when losing my father absolutly believe that that wasn't the end of the story, and we will one day catch up:)
